A street named for the port
Mina Street takes its name from the port: al mina is Arabic for the port, and the street runs towards the port side of the island and the Mina Zayed area. Experience Abu Dhabi, the emirate's official tourism site, describes Mina Zayed as known for its traditional markets, with the fish market operating alongside a fruit and vegetable souq, a plant souq and a meat market.
This page is for people who drive Mina Street because their work is there, in the port, the markets or the businesses around them, including anyone whose day starts early or runs in shifts. RPM is not on Mina Street. It is one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal. Before you plan anything, read judging the drive from where your working day starts.
A detour, not a stop: check which way you are heading
The mapped route from Mina Street follows Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street (Salam Street) before the final stretch on Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Street into AD HUB, and the route box rates it a short cross-island trip. What decides whether it works is the direction you are already going when work ends.
| After work you head | The detour to RPM | Worth it? |
|---|---|---|
| Home elsewhere on the main island, inland from the port | Partly in your direction | Often, on fixed evenings |
| Home off the island | A change of route before the longer drive | Sometimes, if you would rather let traffic ease first |
| Home on the port side itself | Out across the island and back | Only for sessions you cannot get locally |
| Nowhere, it is your day off | A trip of its own | Yes, if the visit is built around a coach or a long session |
Early starts and physical work
If your working day starts before sunrise and involves lifting, carrying or long hours on your feet, a gym session has to fit around that load rather than pile on top of it. A few rules help:
- Train after the shift rather than before it when the job itself is physically hard.
- Keep your heaviest gym days away from your hardest workdays, and tell a coach which days those are.
- If your shift ends in the early afternoon, ask the team which daytime hours are quieter on the training floor.
- Put sleep first after an early start. A shorter session that leaves you rested is worth more than a long one that does not.
This is general training advice. If work has left you with pain or an injury, see a doctor or physiotherapist before you start training.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Early starters can come in after a shift once the doors open, and the late closing suits anyone who finishes in the afternoon. Fridays are shorter and Ramadan can bring changes, so match the hours above to your shift before committing to a slot.
What the detour should buy you
| If you want | What RPM has |
|---|---|
| A coach who plans around your workload | Personal training, coached programming in the Engine tier, or the Atelier tier built around one-to-one coaching |
| A full strength floor | A squat rack with colour bumper plates, plate-loaded machines, cable towers, benches and dumbbells |
| Training for women only | The women-only Ladies section, which has its own equipment and the Pilates studio |
| Sauna, steam or ice after a session | A Finnish sauna, an aroma steam room and an ice bath, with tier access confirmed on enquiry |
| Somewhere to change after work | Keypad lockers in the changing area and a grooming hub with hairdryers and products |
Check with your doctor before using the sauna or ice bath if you are pregnant or have a heart condition. Ask the team about showers before you build them into your routine.
If coaching is the reason, read about personal training at RPM before your visit, and bring your shift pattern so the coach can see what a realistic week looks like.
Trying it from the port side
AD HUB has free on-site parking and a lift to Level 4. Book the free guided tour for a day off, or for straight after an early finish, and drive the detour at that hour rather than at a quiet time. On the tour a team member walks you round the club, and nobody expects you to train.
- Ask which tier fits the number of sessions your shifts allow.
- Ask when the training floor is quieter at the hours you could come.
- Ask whether a pass is available if you want to test a full week first.

Questions, answered.
Is RPM on Mina Street or in the port area?
No. The only RPM club is on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal. From Mina Street it is a short cross-island trip, and the route box shows the mapped estimates from the nearest point of the street.
I finish in the early afternoon. Is that a good time to train?
It can be. Ask the team which daytime hours are quieter on the training floor, and eat something first if the shift ran through lunch.
Can my employer arrange memberships for port or market staff?
Staff arrangements are set up organisation by organisation. Point your employer to corporate arrangements, and RPM confirms the details when they enquire.
I come straight from work in work clothes. Where do I change?
The changing area has keypad lockers for your things, and the grooming hub has a vanity area. Ask the team about showers and whether towels are provided.
Is there a way to test a week before joining?
Check with the team whether a weekly pass is running at the moment. Passes change over time, and availability, price and inclusions come from the team.
