Same district, so the trip is not the question
Al Zaab is a neighbourhood within Al Manhal, and RPM is on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in the same district. The mapped route is a short drive that ends on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street (Airport Road), parking at AD HUB is free and on site, and a lift takes you up. The figures are in the route box above.
When a gym is this close, most of the usual reasons for skipping a session shrink. What is left is the risk of turning up without a plan, wandering between machines and drifting off after a month. The rest of this page is about avoiding that. If you are still weighing RPM against other gyms, start with how to judge RPM against your own trip and week.
Your first fortnight, visit by visit
Begin by booking the free guided tour, then work through the visits below at your own pace.
| Visit | What to do | Why it helps |
|---|---|---|
| The tour | Walk the club with a member of the team: the training floor, the changing area, the recovery suite doors | You learn the layout before you train, so the first session is not spent looking around |
| First session | A cardio warm-up, then the plate-loaded leg press and pulldown | Machines guide the movement while you learn the floor |
| A group class | Ask the team which classes run that week | You meet a coach and get a structure without writing your own |
| The functional area | Sled pushes on the turf lane, kettlebells, battle ropes | A different kind of session, useful on evenings when lifting feels flat |
| A coached session | One session with a coach to check technique and set a plan | You leave knowing what to do on your own visits |
| The decision | Choose between the Floor, Engine and Atelier tiers | By now you know whether you want coaching built in |
Training visits need a membership or a pass. Day and weekly passes are time-sensitive, so ask the team what is available before you plan the fortnight. Women who prefer the Ladies section can do the first session on its own strength and cardio floor.
Group classes run in both sections, and the timetable changes, so check it the week you start.
Making evening sessions stick
- Keep the same two or three evenings each week for the first month, even when a session has to be short.
- Leave the house before you sit down for the evening. Once the sofa wins, the session rarely happens.
- A short session done beats a long one skipped, especially after a long workday.
- Use the late opening when evenings fill up with family plans.
- Plan Fridays on their own: shorter club hours and midday prayers change the shape of the day.
- In Ramadan, ask the team for the adjusted hours and rebuild the week around them.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
If the routine slips anyway
| What happens | Try this |
|---|---|
| You skip after a long workday | Move one session to the morning, before work |
| The floor feels busy at your hour | Ask the team which hours tend to be quieter |
| You arrive without knowing what to do | Book a coached session and leave with a written plan |
| Boredom sets in after a few weeks | Add a group class or a functional session to the week |
| You stay sore for days after early sessions | Lighten the loads and ask a coach to adjust the plan |
If you want coaching to carry the plan for you, read how personal training at RPM works. The Engine tier adds coached programming, and Atelier is built around one-to-one coaching.
Questions, answered.
Is RPM in Al Zaab?
No, though both are in Al Manhal. RPM's only club is on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex, and the route box above shows the mapped trip from Al Zaab.
Can I walk from Al Zaab?
The route box gives driving figures only, and this page does not map a walking route. If you want to walk, try it yourself in the cooler months first. From May to September, plan on the car.
I have never trained in a gym. What should I do first?
Take the free guided tour, then start on the machines, where the movement is guided. Book one coached session early so someone checks your technique before habits set in.
Can women in my household do Pilates there?
Yes, in the women-only Ladies section. Reformer classes run in the Pilates studio there. The studio photos show reformers, some with towers, so ask which apparatus a session uses.
Is it busy in the evenings?
That varies through the week and the year. Ask the team on your tour which evening hours are usually quieter, then try one of them for your first session.
