Zayed City on the mainland, not Madinat Zayed downtown
This page is about Zayed City, the district on the mainland, and not the Madinat Zayed area in central Abu Dhabi on the island. The two names are easy to confuse, and in Arabic they are the same. From Zayed City, the route box rates the drive to RPM, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, a mainland commute.
A commute like that works for training only when it is part of a trip you already make. So the real question is about your week rather than the gym: how often it takes you onto the island, and whether those days leave room for a session. For the wider checks, see the starting point for judging RPM from any part of the city.
Log one ordinary week first
Pick a normal week, not one with a holiday or a trip abroad, and fill in a line each evening. It takes a moment, and it replaces guesswork with your own facts.
Your one-week log
| Day | On the island today? | Where, and until when | Could a session have fitted? | What got in the way |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monday | [yes or no] | [place and finishing time] | [yes or no] | [note] |
| Tuesday | [yes or no] | [place and finishing time] | [yes or no] | [note] |
| Wednesday | [yes or no] | [place and finishing time] | [yes or no] | [note] |
| Thursday | [yes or no] | [place and finishing time] | [yes or no] | [note] |
| Friday | [yes or no] | [place and finishing time] | [yes or no] | [shorter club hours] |
| Saturday | [yes or no] | [place and finishing time] | [yes or no] | [note] |
| Sunday | [yes or no] | [place and finishing time] | [yes or no] | [note] |
Count a session as fitting only if you could have trained and still got home at a reasonable hour.
Reading what the log tells you
- Two or more island days with room for a session: RPM can work as your commuter gym on exactly those days.
- One such day: make it a coached session, and train in your own area the rest of the week.
- None: a gym in your own area is the honest answer. Keep RPM for an occasional visit for coaching, the women-only Ladies section or the recovery suite.
- The same entry in the last column every day, such as a late meeting or the school run, is the thing to solve first, whichever gym you pick.
The guide for people commuting through central Abu Dhabi looks at the same choice from the commuter's side.
If the log says yes
- On morning days, get ready for work at the club. The keypad lockers and the grooming hub, whose vanity area has hairdryers and products, are there for that. Ask about showers and whether towels are provided.
- On evening days, book a session at a fixed time. A booking gives the office day a hard stop, which a vague plan to train never does.
- For women who want to train among women only, the Ladies section has its own equipment and the Pilates studio, where reformer classes run.
- Choose the tier by how you will train: Floor for the training floor on your own, Engine or Atelier if you want a coach's plan. The team confirms inclusions and prices when you enquire.
Theyab Bin Eissa Street and Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street
The mapped route from Zayed City follows Theyab Bin Eissa Street and Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street onto the island, finishing at AD HUB, where there is free on-site parking and a lift to Level 4. The figures come from one mapped point in Zayed City. On a log day that started at the office, time that leg instead.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Book the free guided tour on one of the island days from your log, at the hour the log suggests. Expect a guided look round, with no training involved.
Questions, answered.
Is this page about Madinat Zayed in the city centre?
No. It is about Zayed City on the mainland. The Madinat Zayed area in central Abu Dhabi is a different place on the island, and the route box on this page does not apply to it.
Does RPM have a club in Zayed City?
No. RPM's one club is on the island, in Al Manhal, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex.
My log shows island days, but they finish late. Is RPM still an option?
Possibly in the morning instead. The club opens early, so a session before work may fit. If neither end of the day works, train in your own area.
Should I log a second week?
If the first week was unusual, yes. Otherwise, one ordinary week is usually enough to show whether island days with spare time exist at all.
Can I test the plan before joining?
Ask the team whether a weekly pass is on sale, and use it on the days your log picked out. Pass terms change, so confirm what is available and what it covers.
