Classes, a theatre and galleries opposite Qasr Al Hosn
The Cultural Foundation's website places it opposite Qasr Al Hosn, in the Al Hosn area at the heart of the city. Its programmes include art classes and workshops for teens and adults at Al Marsam Al Hor, Arabic calligraphy classes at Bait Al Khatt, a theatre programme of music, dance and drama, exhibitions, and the Abu Dhabi Children's Library.
This page is for the people who go there regularly or for a night out: class students, theatregoers, gallery visitors and the parents who bring children. RPM is one club, close to the Cultural Foundation by road, and RPM's one club, for people with tickets or a class downtown has the basics. With the drive this short, the planning is about the order of your evening rather than the trip.
What you are there for decides where the session goes
| At the Cultural Foundation | Where the session fits | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A weekly class at Al Marsam Al Hor or Bait Al Khatt | Straight before class, on the same evening | One trip out covers both, since the two are close by road |
| A performance in the theatre | Earlier in the day, or a moderate session with a generous margin | Latecomers wait for a suitable break, so a rushed arrival can cost you part of the show |
| An exhibition | Before or after, whichever suits | The FAQ says exhibitions need no booking, so the order is yours |
| A child's class or a library visit | On a different day, unless another adult stays with the child | Check the Cultural Foundation's own rules before planning to leave |
Keep a margin before a show
The theatre rules on the Cultural Foundation's website say latecomers are admitted only at a suitable break and may be seated elsewhere, and that only water is allowed inside the theatre. The same page notes that parking there is limited. Each of those points shapes a session before a performance.
- Finish training with time to change, eat and find a space at the Cultural Foundation, as well as to drive over.
- Eat between the session and the show, since food stays outside the theatre.
- Get ready at the grooming hub, with its vanity area, hairdryers and products. Ask the team ahead of time whether there are showers and if towels are provided.
- Keep the session moderate. Sore legs and a long sit in a theatre seat are a poor pairing.
- Leave the kit bag in the car and walk in with what you need for the evening.
A week with a class and training in it
Here is one way a calligraphy or art student with an office job might lay out the week. Adjust the days to your own class.
| Day | Plan |
|---|---|
| Class evening | RPM straight after work, a moderate session, then on to class |
| Another weekday evening | The longer session of the week, with a coach if you have one |
| Friday | Rest, or something light, since club hours are shorter |
| Weekend | Training in the morning, then an exhibition or a show later |
A coach can plan the hard sessions away from class evenings, so you arrive at the easel or the calligraphy table with steady hands rather than shaking ones. Read about personal training at RPM, and if your class follows a full working day, training after work covers keeping energy for the evening.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Getting over from Al Hosn
The mapped route runs along Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street (Airport Road), the street the Cultural Foundation overlooks, into Al Manhal, and the route box shows a short drive. At AD HUB there is free on-site parking and a lift up to Level 4, so the session starts without a hunt for a space.

Questions, answered.
Is RPM part of the Cultural Foundation or Qasr Al Hosn?
No. RPM is an independent gym with one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal. It is a short drive from the Cultural Foundation, and the route box shows the mapped estimates.
Can I go to a performance straight from the gym?
Yes, with a margin. Change and get ready at the club, eat before you leave, and allow time to park, since late arrivals wait for a suitable break before taking their seats.
My class finishes in the evening. Can I train after it instead?
Usually. The club opens late into the evening, with shorter hours on Fridays, so check the hours block against the end of your class.
Can I train with a female coach before my class?
Yes. Female coaches on the roster work in the Ladies section, which is for women only and has its own strength and cardio floor and the Pilates studio. Ask the team which coaches are available at your hour.
Is it worth joining just to train around one class a week?
Count the sessions you would really do. If it is one a week, a coached session may suit you better than open access. Ask the team which option fits, since inclusions and prices are confirmed on enquiry.
