A stadium on the map, and one club in Al Manhal
Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium is mapped as Al-Jazira Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium, on Mohammed Bin Maktoum Al Mazrouei Street, and the route box above measures from it. This page is for two kinds of people around it: those who play, from weekend leagues to club squads, and fans who would like to be fitter themselves.
RPM has no connection with the stadium. It is one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, and by road it is close by. For the general checks, see what RPM's single club looks like from the stadium side of town.
Is there a gym near Al Jazira Club?
This page says nothing about Al Jazira Club itself, and RPM has no arrangement with it. If you searched the club's name because you live, work or train around the stadium the map lists as Al-Jazira Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium, the route box applies to you: RPM is close by road, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal.
If you play: a gym week built around your own game
| How you play | What to add at RPM | When it fits |
|---|---|---|
| A league game every weekend | One strength session and one conditioning session | Early in the week, with nothing heavy the day before the game |
| Five-a-side with friends, twice a week | One full-body strength session | An open evening between the games |
| A club or academy squad | Whatever your club coach agrees, planned with an RPM coach | Around the club's own sessions, never on top of them |
| Back after a long break | A few coached sessions before you play again | The weeks before your first game back |
This is general training information, not medical advice. If you are carrying an injury, see a physiotherapist or doctor before adding gym work.
Conditioning for a running game happens mostly in the functional area: sled pushes along the turf lane, battle ropes, slam balls and step boxes. Strength comes from the squat rack, the plate-loaded leg press and the cable towers. A coach can put the two together around the days you play.
Fans who want to get moving
Plenty of people watch more sport than they play. If that is you and you want to change it, a gym this close removes the usual excuse, and the first weeks matter more than the equipment.
- Take the free guided tour at the hour you would actually come, so you see the floor as it will be.
- Book a coached session or two to learn the machines, rather than guessing.
- Try a group class if you would rather be told what to do. The timetable changes, so ask what runs at your hour.
- Women who prefer to train among women can use the Ladies section, which has its own strength and cardio equipment and the Pilates studio.
- Teenagers in the family who play can start with youth fitness, which is coach-supervised and arranged by a parent or guardian. Check with the team which age groups it takes.
Match days and the roads around the stadium
On match and event days, expect busier roads around the stadium before kick-off and after the final whistle. If you are going to the game, train well before you head over, or leave the session for another day. If you are not going, avoid driving past at those times.
The mapped route finishes on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street (Airport Road) into Al Manhal. Arrival is the same as from anywhere: AD HUB's free on-site parking, then the lift to Level 4.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Fridays are shorter at the club, so a Friday fixture usually means a morning session or none.
After the final whistle: recovery and the next day
Heat and cold sit side by side in the recovery suite: a Finnish sauna, an aroma steam room and an ice bath. Some players like it the day after a game, but it does not replace sleep and rest, and pregnancy or a heart condition means asking your doctor before using heat or cold. Which tiers include it is confirmed on enquiry.
The day after a hard game is a poor time for heavy lifting. An easy walk or light work on a bike suits it better, with the real gym session a day or two later.
Questions, answered.
Is RPM part of Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium?
No. RPM is an independent club with one location, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal. It is close to the stadium by road, and the route box above shows the mapped drive.
Can I train on the day I am going to a match?
Yes, if you finish well before you set off, since the roads around the stadium get busier as kick-off approaches. A shorter session leaves you time to get ready.
Is there room for sprints and change-of-direction work?
The functional area has a turf lane with a sled, step boxes and other conditioning kit. Ask on the tour how busy it is at the hours you would come.
Can a squad or a group of friends train together?
Friends can train side by side in the Mixed section, or join a group class. Arrangements for teams and organisations are set up one at a time and confirmed on enquiry.
Do coaches plan around a football season?
Personal training at RPM is built around your goal and schedule, so give the coach your fixture dates and training nights and ask them to plan the gym days around those.
