Working or shopping at World Trade Center, downtown
World Trade Center Abu Dhabi is a complex in downtown Abu Dhabi that includes a mall. This page is for people whose working day is spent there, at a desk or behind a counter, and for regular shoppers who wonder whether a session could share the trip.
RPM is not in the complex. It is a single club on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, and the mapped estimates place it near enough to downtown for a lunch session to be worth testing. For the wider picture, start with RPM's one address, judged from a downtown desk.
Will a lunch break hold a session? Do the sum first
Most lunchtime gym plans fail on arithmetic rather than willpower. Put your own figures into these four letters before you try one, taking the drive from the route box and adding a margin for midday traffic.
- B is your break, as your employer really allows it, not as the contract describes it.
- D is the drive one way at midday, from the route box plus a margin.
- W is the walk from your desk to the car, and back again at the end.
- C is changing at the club and getting presentable for the afternoon.
Training time is B minus twice D, minus W, minus C. If that leaves room for the session you want, lunch is a real option. If it does not, rushing will not fix it, and the end of the working day is the better slot.
What fits into the middle of a working day
A lunch session has to be decided before you leave your desk. Pick one of these shapes and repeat it, rather than choosing on the floor.
- One main lift on the squat rack or a plate-loaded machine, followed by a short pair of accessory exercises.
- A brief conditioning block on the turf lane with the sled, battle ropes and kettlebells, kept short so you are not still flushed at your next meeting.
- A coached session booked into the same midday slot each week, so the time is guarded in your calendar.
- No recovery suite at lunch. Save the sauna and ice bath for evenings and weekends, when there is time to use them properly.
Getting back to work looking presentable matters as much as the training. The grooming hub has a vanity area with hairdryers and products, and keypad lockers in the changing area keep office clothes and valuables together. Ask the team about showers, and whether towels are provided, before you build a midday routine around them.
For the general case, with no particular gym in mind, see training in the middle of the working day.
When lunch fails, move the session rather than drop it
| What went wrong | What to try next |
|---|---|
| A meeting swallowed the break | Train after work the same day, while the plan is still fresh |
| You got back late and the afternoon felt rushed | Keep lunch sessions for days with a light afternoon |
| You were still warm at a client meeting | Swap conditioning for strength on meeting days, or move to the evening |
| Parking back at work took longer than expected | Add it to W next time, or switch to after work |
| Friday's break is shaped by the midday prayers | Leave Friday out and use a weekend morning instead |
After work is often the steadier slot for downtown workers. The first hour after offices empty is a poor time to sit in traffic anyway, and the training floor uses it better. The mapped route finishes on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street (Airport Road) into Al Manhal, and AD HUB has free on-site parking with a lift to Level 4.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Opening stretches from early morning into late evening, Friday hours are shorter, and Ramadan can shift both. Check the table before you commit to either slot.
Test the midday slot before you join
Book the free guided tour during your actual lunch break. The tour shows you the club rather than training you, but doing it in your real break times the whole round trip. While you are there, ask:
- How busy the training floor tends to be in the middle of the day.
- Whether a coach can hold the same lunchtime slot for you each week.
- Whether a day pass is available so you can try one real lunch session, and what it includes. The team confirms whether one is on offer, and at what price.
- Which tier covers the sections you would use. Prices are shared on enquiry.
Questions, answered.
Is RPM part of World Trade Center Abu Dhabi?
No. RPM has one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, a short drive inland from downtown. The mapped trip is in the route box at the top.
I work in a shop in the mall. Can I train in my break?
Only if the break is long and fixed, which retail breaks often are not. A session before a late shift or after an early one is usually easier, with your longest session on a day off.
Can colleagues come together at lunch?
Yes, if your breaks line up. A mixed group trains in the Mixed section, and women can choose the women-only Ladies section. If several of you want to train regularly, ask HR about corporate arrangements, which RPM sets up with each organisation.
I shop at World Trade Center at weekends. Is a session worth adding?
If you are heading downtown anyway, train first and shop afterwards, so a long afternoon in the mall does not cut the session short. Check the weekend opening in the hours table.
How long should a lunch session be?
As long as the sum leaves you, and no longer. A coach can write a session to that length, so give them your real break rather than the one on paper.
