One highway, two islands at the far end
The Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Highway, signed as the E12, links the main island with Saadiyat and Yas. For many people it is simply the commute: a home on one island and an office on another, with the same stretch of highway twice a day. It is written for those drivers.
RPM is one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, in the middle of the main island. Reaching it means leaving the highway's line and crossing part of the island, which the route box rates a short cross-island trip. For the general checks, see how RPM's club sits off the E12 corridor.
Which way you drive decides the slot
| Your commute | When RPM fits | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Home on Saadiyat or Yas, office on the main island | After work, before you join the E12 home, or early, before the office opens | A strong fit on office days |
| Home on the main island, office on Saadiyat or Yas | At the home end: before you set off, or after you come back | A fit, at the home end of the day |
| Home and office both on Saadiyat or Yas | Only as a planned weekend visit | Occasional at most |
| Home on Yas, office on Saadiyat, or the reverse | Nowhere on your route | Train on your own island |
If several rows describe your week, plan around the one that covers most of your working days.
The first two rows are the reason this page exists. In both, the main island is already one end of your day, so the session adds a detour rather than a whole extra trip. The guide to choosing a gym on your daily commute sets out the same logic for any route.
The evening stop, before the drive back out
For island residents with a main-island office, the evening is usually the slot that holds. A routine that tends to work:
- Keep a kit bag in the car, so the stop needs no decision once work is over.
- Drive from the office to AD HUB, not home first, which would mean crossing back onto the main island later.
- Eat something small before you train if lunch was early.
- Train for the time you have: one main lift or a coached block, then a short finisher.
- Join the E12 home afterwards, once the worst of the outbound traffic has often eased. Test that on your own evenings rather than assume it.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Late closing leaves room after a long day, and Friday hours are shorter. A morning version works too, with keypad lockers for the work bag and the grooming hub's hairdryers and products before the office. Ask the team about showers before relying on them.
Spend the detour on what your island lacks
Many Saadiyat and Yas homes come with a building or community gym. If yours does, keep it for easy days and spend the detour on what it lacks.
- Coaching: personal training, coached programming in the Engine tier, or the Atelier tier built around one-to-one coaching.
- A full strength floor: a squat rack with colour bumper plates, plate-loaded machines, cable towers and the functional area with its sled.
- A women-only floor: the Ladies section has its own strength and cardio equipment and the Pilates studio, where reformer classes run.
- Heat and cold: the recovery suite has a Finnish sauna, an aroma steam room and an ice bath. If you are pregnant or have a heart condition, ask your doctor first, and ask the team which tiers include it.
Whether a main-island gym beats one on your own island depends on these gaps. Central gym or island gym walks through that choice.
Hamdan Street, Salam Street and where the figures start
The E12 is a long road, so the route box measures from its point nearest RPM, at the Al Zahiyah end. Add your own stretch of highway from Saadiyat or Yas to that point. From there the mapped route uses Hamdan Bin Mohammed Street (Hamdan Street) and Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street (Salam Street) towards Al Manhal.
AD HUB has free on-site parking, and a lift takes you to Level 4. Book the free guided tour at the hour you would really stop, and drive the detour at that hour.
Questions, answered.
Is there an RPM on Saadiyat or Yas?
No. RPM has one club, on the main island, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal. Its mapped estimates from the E12 are in the route box.
I live on the main island and work on Yas. Morning or evening?
Either, as long as it sits at the home end. A morning session means getting ready for work at the club, and an evening one means stopping before you reach home. Pick the one you can repeat on most working days.
What about event days on Yas or Saadiyat?
Roads to a big event can be busier than usual. On those days, move the session to the morning or to another day rather than adding it to a slow evening.
Can colleagues from a Saadiyat or Yas office train together?
Yes, in the Mixed section, and women can choose the Ladies section. If your employer wants to arrange something for staff, corporate arrangements are tailored to each organisation and confirmed on enquiry.
Which tier suits two stops a week?
Floor covers the training floor if you have your own plan. Engine brings coached programming, while Atelier centres on one-to-one coaching. Ask the team for inclusions and prices, which are not published online.
