A motor-racing circuit on Yas, a club on the main island
Yas Marina Circuit is a motor-racing circuit on Yas Island, which is reached by bridge. This page is for people who travel to Abu Dhabi for an event there and want to keep training during the trip, for a few days or a full week.
RPM is one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal on the main island, with no link to the circuit or its events. From the circuit, the route box rates the trip a mainland commute. For the general checks, see fitting RPM's single club into a trip built around an event.
Yas hotel or main-island base: two different weeks
| Where you are staying | Event days | Days without an event |
|---|---|---|
| On Yas Island | Stay put: the event is the day | A session at RPM only if the day is otherwise empty, since each visit is the full mainland commute both ways |
| On the main island | Keep it light: a short early session before you set off, if any | The easy case: train at RPM, then spend the rest of the day as you like |
| With friends or family in Abu Dhabi | Follow the group's plan | Pair the session with a family visit or errands on the main island |
If you are on Yas for a short stay and only want to keep moving, the hotel's own gym may do the job, and the comparison of hotel gyms and full gyms sets out what each gives you. RPM earns the trip for heavier lifting, a coached session, a floor for women only or the recovery suite.
Plan the week around the event, not the other way round
Event days tend to be long. Expect an early start, hours on your feet or in a seat, and crowds that slow everything down. Count them as demanding days in their own right, and fit the gym around them.
- Mark every event day before you arrive, and plan no gym sessions on them.
- Put the hardest session on the first spare day before the event starts, while you are fresh.
- After a long event day, keep the next session easy, with mobility work, light cardio and a few strength sets.
- Drink water steadily through hot days outdoors, and do not try to make up a missed session with a punishing one.
- Allow for busier roads around the circuit on event days, in both directions.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
A spare day that lands on a Friday means shorter hours at the club, so plan an earlier finish.
Short-stay access, and what to bring
You may not need a membership for a visit of a few days. Ask the team whether a day pass or a weekly pass is available for your dates, and what each includes. Passes are time-sensitive, so count nothing as booked until the team has confirmed the price and what you get for it.
- Training shoes and kit, kept separate from what you wear to the circuit.
- A water bottle and a bag for damp kit.
- A keypad locker in the changing area for your phone and wallet while you train.
- For women in the group, a question about the Ladies section, which is for women only and has its own strength and cardio floor and the Pilates studio.
After several days on your feet, the recovery suite may appeal, with a Finnish sauna, an aroma steam room and an ice bath. Ask whether your pass includes it, and check with a doctor first if you are pregnant or have a heart condition.
From Yas along Salam Street
The mapped route from the circuit follows Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street (Salam Street) and ends at AD HUB, where parking is free and on site and a lift goes up to Level 4. The figures start by the circuit's North Grandstand, so if your hotel is elsewhere on Yas or on the main island, time the trip from there.
Without a car, settle how you will get there and back before you rely on a session, because the route box assumes you are driving.
Questions, answered.
Is RPM at Yas Marina Circuit or on Yas Island?
No. RPM has one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal on the main island, and no link with the circuit. From the circuit it is a mainland commute, as the route box shows.
Should I train on the morning of an event day?
Only lightly, and only if you are based on the main island. A hard session before a long day on your feet usually leaves you flat for the event itself.
We are a group of friends. Can we train together?
Yes, in the Mixed section, which men and women share. Women can also use the women-only Ladies section if their pass covers it, so confirm that for each person.
Do I need to book before I come?
Message the team before your trip, ask what is available for your dates and arrange it in advance. Turning up unannounced in a busy week is a risk you can avoid.
I am staying in Abu Dhabi for a week after the event. Does that change anything?
Yes. Once the event is over, every day is a spare day, so a weekly pass, if one is available, may suit you better than single days. Ask the team to compare the options for your dates.
