Show week at the exhibition centre, and where a gym fits
ADNEC, the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, is an exhibition and conference venue in Abu Dhabi. In a show week it fills with exhibitors building and staffing stands, trade visitors walking the halls, and crews who arrive before the doors open and leave after they close. This page is for all of them.
RPM is not at ADNEC. It is a single club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, and the route box rates the drive a short cross-island trip. Start with RPM's location, and what a visitor should confirm before show week, then plan by phase below.
Which gym is best for exhibition visitors in Abu Dhabi?
The one you can reach in the windows your show leaves, that has what you will use, and that confirms access for your dates in advance. No single gym suits every visitor, and RPM does not claim to. It is worth checking if you want a full strength floor, coaching, a women-only section or the recovery suite at an hour before or after the halls. If the gym where you are staying covers your plan, use that.
Build-up, open days, breakdown: training by phase
| Phase | What the days ask of you | Training that fits |
|---|---|---|
| Arrival and build-up | Lifting, carrying and long hours assembling the stand | Nothing heavy for the back or legs. A short mobility session, or rest |
| Open days, as an exhibitor | Hours of standing, talking and walking the stand | An early session of presses and pulls on machines, with the legs kept light |
| Open days, as a visitor | Walking the halls from one meeting to the next | A strength session before the halls open, or none on your busiest day |
| Last day and breakdown | Packing, lifting crates and a late finish | Rest. If your access includes it, the recovery suite the next day |
| The day after the show | Travel, or the first normal day back | One full session to reset the week |
If you are pregnant or have a heart condition, check with your doctor before using the sauna, steam room or ice bath.
Build-up catches people out: it is often the most physical part of the week, and a heavy session on top leaves you stiff for the open days. For the hour-by-hour plan on conference days, see training around a conference programme.
Getting access for your show dates
How do exhibition visitors get gym access in Abu Dhabi?
Contact the gym yourself before you travel, give your show dates and ask what short-term access it offers, if any. At RPM, ask the team whether a day pass or a weekly pass is available for those dates, which section it covers, whether the recovery suite is included and what it costs. All of that changes, so get it confirmed rather than assuming. An exhibitor or visitor badge does not bring gym access with it unless the organiser says so in writing.
Put it all in one message:
- Your arrival and departure dates, and which days are build-up, open days and breakdown.
- How many of you want to train, and whether the group includes women who would use the Ladies section.
- The windows you expect: before the halls open, after they close, or the weekend.
- Whether you want the recovery suite, a session with a coach or just the training floor.
Stand teams: train in shifts, not all at once
A stand needs staffing all day, so a team rarely trains together. Turn the stand rota into a training rota: whoever covers the early shift trains after the halls close, and whoever starts later trains first thing. Mixed teams train together in the Mixed section, and women on the team can choose the women-only Ladies section.
If your company is based in Abu Dhabi and exhibits at ADNEC several times a year, passes for every show may not be the best fit. Ask HR whether corporate arrangements, which RPM sets up with each organisation, would suit the team better.
From the exhibition centre to Level 4
The mapped route follows Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street, then finishes on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street (Airport Road) into Al Manhal. The figures in the route box describe a short cross-island trip, and the traffic a big show brings to the area can add to it at opening and closing time. AD HUB's parking is free and on site, and a lift takes you up to Level 4.
Pack for the whole day if a stand shift or an evening function comes next. Keypad lockers in the changing area hold your bag and badge, and the grooming hub has a vanity area with hairdryers and products. Showers and towels are worth asking the team about before show week.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Early and late opening suits the slots either side of the halls. Check Friday's shorter hours if your show runs into one.
Questions, answered.
Is RPM at ADNEC?
No. RPM runs a single club, up on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal. From the exhibition centre you cross the island, and the route box has the mapped estimates.
Can several people from our stand train on the same dates?
Ask the team whether passes can be issued for a group on your dates, and confirm what each one includes. Availability is time-sensitive.
I am only visiting the show for one day. Is a session worth it?
Only if it fits around your meetings without rushing. On one packed day, walking the halls may be activity enough.
Our show runs into Friday. What should we know?
The club keeps shorter hours on Fridays, as the table shows, and the midday prayers shape traffic and plans. A morning session is usually the easier Friday slot.
Does the recovery suite help after a week on a stand?
Some people like heat or cold after long days, but it does not suit everyone, and RPM promises no particular effect. Ask whether your access includes it, and see a doctor first if you are pregnant or have a heart condition.
