Al Wahda for the shops, Al Manhal for the session
Grand Millennium Al Wahda is a hotel in the Al Wahda district, the area that shares its name with Al Wahda Mall. This page is for guests whose stay is built partly around shopping: a weekend from another emirate, a family trip with a long list of errands, or a work trip with evenings spent at the mall.
RPM is close by road but separate from both the hotel and the mall. How the club sits in relation to the mall itself is covered on our Al Wahda Mall page, so this one sticks to the stay. For the general picture, read what a guest staying at Al Wahda should know before picking a gym.
Train first, shop second: ordering a day at Al Wahda
A heavy session after hours on your feet in a mall rarely goes well, while shopping after a session tends to feel easy. Most shopping days work better in that order.
| Your day | The session | The shopping |
|---|---|---|
| A weekday with nothing booked | Mid-morning, once the commuter traffic has eased | After lunch, fed and rested |
| A weekend day | At opening, before the day gets busy | From late morning on |
| A workday with evening shopping | Straight after work | Dinner and shopping afterwards, at your own pace |
| Friday | Morning or late afternoon, as club hours are shorter | Around the midday prayers |
| The day you fly home | An early, light session at most | Last purchases, then packing |
Malls set their own hours, so check the mall's. RPM's hours are in the block further down.
Kit you forgot, kit you bought, and bags in between
- Left your trainers at home? A shopping day is the moment to replace them, but break new shoes in on a lighter session before a heavy one.
- Keep shopping out of the club. Keypad lockers in the changing area hold a kit bag, so drop larger purchases at the hotel before you set off, or ask the team first.
- Avoid leaving purchases sitting in a parked car through a summer afternoon.
- Change at the club if dinner at the mall comes next. The grooming hub has hairdryers and products. Ask the team about showers, and whether to bring a towel.
- Eat something light between the session and a long walk round the shops.
If you share a car with someone who would rather shop than train, drop them at the mall on the way and agree a pick-up time there. A session plus changing takes longer than most people guess, so pad the estimate.
From Al Wahda to Level 4
The mapped route is short and ends on Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Street into AD HUB, with the figures in the route box. RPM gives no walking directions, so count on going by car. A taxi from the hotel is simplest, and with your own car, AD HUB has free on-site parking and a lift up to Level 4.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Early-morning and late-evening opening lets a session come before a shopping day starts or after a day of errands.
Passes and sections for a shopping stay
- Message the team with your dates and ask whether a day pass or a weekly pass is available, and what each one includes. Both are time-sensitive, so have price and availability confirmed.
- Women can ask whether their access covers the women-only Ladies section, with its own strength and cardio equipment and the Pilates studio.
- For fitness boxing after a day of browsing, bag and pad work run in the Mixed section's functional area. Sparring is a question for the team, not a given.
- If you want heat or cold after training, ask whether the recovery suite is included. Pregnancy or a heart condition means speaking to a doctor before the sauna, steam room or ice bath.
Questions, answered.
Is RPM part of Grand Millennium Al Wahda?
No. RPM is an independent club on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, with no tie to the hotel or the mall. It is close by road, and the route box shows the mapped estimates.
My partner wants to shop while I train. How long should we allow?
Allow for the drive each way, the session and time to change. Set the pick-up at the mall rather than at the club, and send a message as you leave.
Which hours are calmer at the club?
That varies by day. Ask the team which hours tend to be quieter on the days you plan to train, especially if your visit falls on a weekend.
Do I need to arrange anything before my first visit?
Yes. Message the team with your dates first, so access is confirmed before you leave the hotel rather than at the front desk.
Is one session worth it on a weekend shopping trip?
If you train regularly at home, one session breaks up two days of sitting in cars and walking slowly between shops. If the hotel's own gym covers what you do, comparing a hotel gym with a full gym shows when the trip is worth it.
