Two gyms in one stay: the hotel's, and a full club
Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi stands on Sultan Bin Zayed The First Street, the road most people still call Muroor Road. Its website lists DFit Fitness Centre among the hotel's facilities and says the fitness facilities are available to guests at any hour of the day, alongside an outdoor pool and Namm Spa.
That changes the question a guest needs answered. You do not need RPM to stay active here: a run on the treadmill at dawn or a stretch before bed is a lift ride away. The useful question is which sessions are worth taking somewhere bigger. RPM has no arrangement with the hotel; it is one independent club in Al Manhal. Read what a guest on Muroor Road should know about RPM's one club, then use the table to decide session by session.
Which sessions earn the trip
Ask the hotel what its fitness centre holds; its website names the centre but does not list the equipment.
| The session you want | In a hotel fitness centre | Worth the trip to RPM? |
|---|---|---|
| Cardio before breakfast, or a stretch at night | Usually enough, at any hour | Rarely |
| A short dumbbell circuit | Often enough; check how heavy the dumbbells go | Only if the weights stop short of what you use |
| Heavy squats, deadlifts or presses | Ask whether there is a rack, a barbell and plates | Yes: RPM's strength floor has free weights, racks and machines |
| Cable and machine accessory work | Depends on the room | Yes: RPM has a dedicated cable zone |
| Sled, turf, kettlebell or bag work | Rare in a hotel gym | Yes: the functional area has a turf lane, a sled, heavy bags and kettlebells |
| A session with a coach | Ask the hotel | Yes: one-to-one sessions are arranged with RPM directly |
| Training where only women train | Ask the hotel | Yes: RPM's Ladies section is for women only |
| Heat and cold after a hard session | The hotel lists a spa; ask what it includes | RPM's recovery suite has a Finnish sauna, an aroma steam room and an ice bath |
Keeping a hotel-gym session productive
Hotel fitness rooms are usually built for cardio and light to moderate weights. On days you stay in, the session can still do its job if you change how you make the work hard, rather than adding weight you do not have.
- Slow the lowering half of each rep, so the same dumbbell asks more of the muscle.
- Move to one side at a time: split squats, single-leg hip hinges and one-arm rows make a light weight feel heavier.
- Take sets closer to the point where good form would break, instead of stopping at a fixed number.
- Shorten the rests for conditioning days, and keep them full for strength days.
- Write down what you did, so the next full session at RPM picks up where the hotel one left off.
None of this replaces a heavy barbell when your programme calls for one. That is the day to make the trip, and the guide to keeping training going on a business trip shows how to spread those days across a working week.
Muroor Road to Level 4
The mapped route leaves the hotel's side street for Sultan Bin Zayed The First Street (Muroor Road), then follows Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Street west towards AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal. The route box gives the figures; they assume an empty road, so allow more time when the city is heading to or from work.
A taxi is the simplest option for most guests. With a hire car, AD HUB has free on-site parking, and a lift takes you up to the club on Level 4.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
The hotel's fitness centre covers the hours RPM is closed, so an early flight or a late arrival is no reason to skip a session. Check Friday above, when RPM opens later and closes earlier, and ask about Ramadan timings if your stay falls in that month.
Planning the full sessions into your stay
A pattern that suits most guests is to keep the hotel's room for short, flexible sessions and to plan the heavy or coached ones at RPM. How many of each depends on how long you are staying.
| Length of stay | At the hotel | At RPM |
|---|---|---|
| Two or three nights | A short session each day you can | One full session, if strength work matters to you |
| A working week | Cardio and mobility on your busiest days | Two or three heavy, coached or recovery sessions |
| Two weeks or longer | Easy days between harder ones | A regular weekly pattern, with access arranged for the whole stay |
If you follow a programme from home, bring it. A coach can help you adjust loads and exercise choices to equipment you have not used before, which matters most in the first session.
Access, sections and what to ask first
- Ask the team whether a day pass or a weekly pass is available for your dates. Availability, price and what each includes are confirmed by the team and can change.
- RPM has two sections. Men train in the Mixed section; the Ladies section is for women only. Ask which sections your access covers.
- If you want the recovery suite, ask whether your access includes it and when it can be used. Heat and cold exposure is not suitable for everyone: if you have a heart condition, high blood pressure or are pregnant, check with your doctor first.
- Ask whether towels and showers are available before your first visit, so you know what to bring from the hotel.
To weigh RPM against any other gym near Muroor Road, the hotel-door test for any gym explains how to judge the trip at the hour you would actually train.

Questions, answered.
Is RPM part of Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi?
No. RPM is an independent gym with one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal. It has no arrangement with the hotel, so access and any pass are arranged with RPM directly.
The hotel gym is open at any hour. Why go anywhere else?
For a quick session you may not need to. The trip is worth it for heavy free-weight lifting, cable work, the turf and sled, a coach, the women-only Ladies section, or the sauna, steam room and ice bath after training.
Can I walk from the hotel?
The route follows main roads, so most guests take a taxi, especially in the warmer months. The route box on this page gives the distance by road.
When is RPM open?
The opening hours are listed on this page; Friday hours are shorter. Ask about Ramadan timings if your stay falls in that month, and use the hotel's fitness centre for anything earlier or later.
Can I book a coach for just one or two sessions?
Ask the team. One-to-one sessions are arranged with RPM directly, and availability depends on the coach and the time. See personal training at RPM for how sessions work.
