A family hotel on the western Corniche
Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana is a hotel on the western Corniche, in Khalidiya. Its website presents it as family-friendly and lists a kids' club, a children's pool and playground, babysitting on request and a private beach with water sports.
This page is for parents staying there who both want to train during the holiday, and in particular for mothers who would rather train in a space for women only. RPM has no arrangement with the hotel: it is one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal. Read RPM's location, as a family on the western Corniche would judge it, then plan the turns below.
What the hotel lists, and why a mother might still cross the island
The hotel's website lists Bodylines Fitness & Wellness Club, with group exercise rooms, a yoga studio, personal trainers and squash courts. Asked on its fitness page whether men and women have separate facilities, it answers that they are mixed only. For a guest happy to train in a mixed room, that may be all the holiday needs. For a mother who wants a floor with no men on it, it is not.
That is the job of RPM's Ladies section. Only women use it, and it has:
- Its own strength and cardio equipment, separate from the Mixed section.
- The Pilates studio, home to the reformer classes. The studio photos show reformers, some with towers, so ask which apparatus a class uses.
- Female coaches from the roster, among them Imen Hasnaoui, the combat and self-defence coach.
- Classes on a timetable that changes, so ask what runs during your stay.
Ask the team whether a visitor's pass covers the Ladies section before you plan around it, and check anything about the hotel's own facilities with the hotel.
Four ways two parents can share the training
| Pattern | How it works | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Alternate mornings | One parent trains at opening while the other handles breakfast and the pool, then you swap the next day | Families whose children wake early |
| Morning and evening on one day | One trains in the morning, the other after the children's dinner | A day with nothing else booked |
| Both at once | You both train while the children are at the kids' club or with a sitter, each in your own section | Children old enough for the hotel's club, if its terms suit you |
| One long session each per week | Each parent takes one longer session, perhaps with a coach, and keeps the rest light | Shorter holidays, or very young children |
The kids' club and babysitting are the hotel's services, so ask the hotel about ages, times and charges before you count on them.
Agree the handover before the parent who is training leaves: when they will be back, and what the children need by then. A session that runs into lunch or a nap is the quickest way to end the turns altogether.
Across the island on King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street
From the western Corniche, the mapped route runs along King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street and ends on Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Street into AD HUB, which the route box counts as a short cross-island trip. Whoever stays behind with the children will probably need the car more, so settle who keeps it before the first session. Once at AD HUB, leave the car in its free on-site parking and take the lift to Level 4.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
With early opening, a parent can be back before the family is ready for breakfast. Late opening covers the parent who goes once the children are asleep. On Friday the club opens for fewer hours.
Access for one parent or both
- Ask the team about access for each parent separately. A day pass for each turn, or a weekly pass, may be available, and the team confirms price, inclusions and availability for your dates.
- For the mother, confirm which section the pass covers, and whether it includes classes in the Pilates studio.
- If either of you wants the recovery suite, ask whether the pass includes it. Heat and cold do not suit everyone, and anyone pregnant or with a heart condition should ask a doctor first.
For what to look for in any gym on a short stay, the short-stay visitor's guide sets out the questions that matter.

Questions, answered.
Is RPM part of the Rotana hotel?
No. RPM has no connection with Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan or with Rotana. Its only club is on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, and the route box shows the drive from the western Corniche.
Can our children come to RPM with us?
RPM's youth fitness sessions are coach-supervised and arranged and approved by a parent or guardian, so ask which ages each session accepts. Whether younger children can wait at the club while you train is a question for the team before the day.
I am pregnant. Can I still train in the Ladies section?
Ask your doctor or midwife first, and tell the coach before any session so it can be adapted. Leave the sauna, steam room and ice bath alone unless your doctor has agreed, because heat and cold carry real risks in pregnancy.
Can we both train at the same time?
Yes, if the children are looked after. Men train in the Mixed section and women can choose either section, so you may end up on different floors. Confirm what each pass covers.
Is there a female coach for one-to-one sessions?
Yes. The Ladies section is where the roster's female coaches work. Ask the team to book a personal training session with one, and say whether you want strength, Pilates or combat fitness.
