Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi: heat, cold and reformer Pilates on a wellness stay

For a wellness-minded stay at Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi, RPM offers two things worth the drive: a recovery suite with a Finnish sauna, an aroma steam room and an ice bath, and, for women, reformer classes in the Pilates studio inside the women-only Ladies section. RPM runs one club, in Al Manhal, and the route box classes the drive as a short cross-island trip. Ask whether a pass includes the suite or a class, and check with a doctor before heat or cold if you are pregnant or have a heart condition.

A wellness-minded stay on Al Maryah Island

Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi is a hotel on Al Maryah Island. This page is for guests who plan their stay around feeling well rather than around hard training: some heat and cold, some guided movement, and plenty of rest.

RPM has no link with the hotel. It is one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, on the main island. Start with what RPM's single club offers a guest planning a wellness stay. Two things there are relevant to you, and each comes with its own questions.

The recovery suite, room by room

RoomWhat it isAsk before you go in
Finnish saunaA wooden sauna with dry heatWhether your pass includes the suite
Aroma steam roomA steam room with scented airHow long first-time visitors are advised to stay in
Ice bathA plunge into cold waterWhat guidance the team gives before a first go

Heat and cold put real strain on the body. If you are pregnant or have a heart or circulation condition, ask a doctor before using any of these rooms. RPM promises no particular effect from them.

The suite suits a quiet end to a session, if your access allows it. Which tiers or passes include it is confirmed by the team, and the recovery suite page describes it in full.

Reformer Pilates, for women guests

RPM's Pilates studio is inside the Ladies section, which is for women only, and reformer classes run there. The studio photos show reformers, some with towers, along with trapeze-table frames and a ladder barrel. Ask which apparatus a given session uses before you book.

Female coaches on the roster work in the Ladies section, which also has its own strength and cardio equipment. A woman travelling with a male partner can take a class while he trains in the Mixed section, and meet him afterwards. Before booking, ask:

  • Which classes suit someone new to the reformer, and which suit a regular.
  • Whether a visitor can join a class on your dates. The timetable changes, so confirm shortly before the day.
  • Whether a one-to-one Pilates session with a coach is possible during your stay.

One wellness visit, in order

  1. Book the class or session first, then build the visit around it.
  2. Eat lightly beforehand and bring water.
  3. Train, or take the class.
  4. If your access includes the suite and your doctor has no objection, use it afterwards. Follow the team's guidance, and leave any room the moment you feel unwell.
  5. Get ready in the grooming hub, which has a vanity area with hairdryers and products, with your things in a keypad locker meanwhile.
  6. Keep the evening quiet.

One visit like this, or two on a longer stay, is plenty.

Access, Salam Street and the hours

Ask the team whether a day pass is available on your dates, and whether it covers the recovery suite, a class or the Ladies section. Passes are time-sensitive, and the team confirms the price and inclusions.

The mapped route crosses from Al Maryah Island along Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street (Salam Street), then Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Street into AD HUB. In the route box it counts as a short cross-island trip. Free on-site parking waits at AD HUB, with a lift up to Level 4.

DaysOpening hours
Saturday to Thursday06:00–23:00
Friday09:00–22:00

Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.

A morning class leaves the rest of the day for rest. Friday hours are shorter.

// Frequently Asked

Questions, answered.

Is RPM part of the Four Seasons?

No. RPM is a separate club on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, with no tie to the hotel. The route box shows the mapped drive from Al Maryah Island.

Can men book a Pilates class at RPM?

The studio sits inside the Ladies section, and only women use that section. Men train in the Mixed section and can book personal training there.

I have never used a reformer. Will a class suit me?

Ask the team which classes suit a first-timer and which apparatus the session uses. Tell the coach about any injury, and if you are recovering from one, check with your doctor or physiotherapist first.

Is the ice bath suitable for me?

That is a question for your doctor, not for this page. Cold water does not suit everyone, and pregnancy or a heart condition are clear reasons to ask first. If you go ahead, follow the team's guidance and get out if you feel unwell.

What should I bring?

Comfortable training clothes and water. Ask whether grip socks are needed for the studio, and whether towels are provided.
