Radisson Blu Abu Dhabi Corniche: keeping fit through weeks of work

On a stay of several weeks at Radisson Blu Hotel & Resort Abu Dhabi Corniche, aim to hold the fitness you arrived with rather than build on it, and let each week's workload set how many sessions it gets. RPM is one club, in Al Manhal, and the route box rates the drive from the Corniche a short cross-island trip. Two sessions in a normal week, one in a hard week and none in a crunch week is a plan that tends to survive an assignment.

Weeks on the Corniche, with work in charge of the calendar

Radisson Blu Hotel & Resort Abu Dhabi Corniche is a hotel on the Corniche. This page is for guests on long business stays there: a project, an audit or a posting that runs for weeks, where the job sets the hours and training has to fit around it.

The hotel and RPM are unconnected, and RPM's only club sits on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal. Read RPM's single club as the steady base of a long work trip, then set yourself a smaller target than you would at home.

Maintenance is a smaller target than progress

On a long work stay, the job is the point of the trip. Trying to add weight to the bar every week on top of long days and hotel sleep often ends in missed sessions and frustration. Holding what you have takes far less, and it leaves you ready to build again once you are home.

One harder effort a week, such as sled pushes or intervals on a bikeLong cardio sessionsA new programme started mid-trip
Mobility for long days in meetings or on siteExercises you only do for varietyTraining through illness or a run of poor sleep

This is a general approach, not a prescription. If a health condition affects how you train, speak to a doctor before you change anything.

A traffic-light plan for each working week

At the start of each working week, look at the diary and give the week a colour. The colour decides the sessions, so you never have to argue with yourself on a tired evening.

WeekWhat it looks likeAt RPMBetween visits
GreenNormal office hours, with most evenings your ownTwo full sessions, or three if you want themWalks in the cooler months and a short routine in the room
AmberA deadline, site visits or late calls with a head office in another time zoneOne full session and one short oneMobility in the room
RedA crunch week, or travel elsewhere in the regionNone, by plan rather than by guiltWalking, sleep and regular meals

A red week planned as red is not a failure. The real risk is a run of amber weeks that slides into red without anyone deciding it should.

Keeping the thread from one week to the next

  • Log every session: exercises, loads and how hard it felt. On a long stay, the notes are what stop each week starting from scratch.
  • Repeat the same main session on the same days each week, so the drive and the workout both become habit.
  • Book one session with a coach early in the stay through personal training, to set the plan and check your technique, and perhaps a second in the final week.
  • If the stay runs through Ramadan, count those weeks as amber at most, and check the club's Ramadan hours with the team.
  • From May to September, move the walking indoors, onto a treadmill at RPM or in the hotel's own fitness room if it has one.
  • Take the log home, so your own gym or coach can pick up where the trip left off.

If you expect further assignments in Abu Dhabi, the guide for business travellers who return often covers what changes when trips repeat.

Corniche Street and Electra Street to AD HUB

The mapped route follows Corniche Street and Zayed The First Street (Electra Street), with Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street (Airport Road) as the final stretch into AD HUB. The route box classes it as a short cross-island trip. Fix your green-week sessions to the same days and hours, ideally outside the commuting peaks, and the drive turns into routine. Free on-site parking and a lift to Level 4 wait at the end of it.

DaysOpening hours
Saturday to Thursday06:00–23:00
Friday09:00–22:00

Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.

With the club open from early morning to late evening, a green week can put its sessions before work or after it. Friday is the shorter day.

// Frequently Asked

Questions, answered.

Is RPM part of the Radisson Blu?

No. RPM is a separate business, with one club on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal and no arrangement with the hotel. The route box gives the mapped drive from the Corniche.

How should I pay for weeks of training?

Start by asking the team whether a weekly pass is available for your dates, and what it covers. If the stay runs on, ask how the membership tiers would work for a stay with a known end date. Passes are time-sensitive, and prices for both are confirmed on enquiry.

Will two sessions a week really hold my strength?

Two full sessions at familiar loads is a common way to maintain, though people respond differently. If the weights start to feel heavier, add a short third session in a green week.

Part of my stay is in another emirate. What then?

Make it a red week for RPM and keep moving where you are. When you return, restart from the last loads in your log rather than trying to make up the missed sessions.

I am a woman on a long posting. Can I train away from the mixed floor?

Yes. The Ladies section is for women only, with strength and cardio equipment of its own and the Pilates studio, and female coaches on the roster work there. Check that the pass or tier you choose covers it.
