Behind Khalifa Park, in town on official business
Park Rotana Abu Dhabi is a hotel that its website places behind Khalifa Park, in the Park Complex it shares with Park Arjaan and The Residences by Rotana. The same site lists Bodylines Fitness & Wellness Club, with a gym and separate saunas and steam rooms for men and women, along with a tennis court and personal training on request. It describes the gym and pool as shared spaces.
This page is for guests in Abu Dhabi on government business: delegations, officials from other countries or emirates, and consultants whose days are set by a ministry or authority. Nothing links RPM to the hotel, and it trains people at a single address, Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal. Read RPM's club, judged from a delegation programme at the Park Complex, then plan around the meetings.
Your hosts set the programme, so read it first
On an official visit, meeting times come from the host side, sometimes at short notice, and the day runs to formal dress and fixed timings. Training has to fit a schedule you do not control, so sort each day by its shape.
| The day's programme | In Khalifa Park | At RPM |
|---|---|---|
| Meetings in the morning, the afternoon open | An easy run before breakfast, if the park is open | The main strength session once the last meeting ends |
| Meetings from morning to evening | A short run, or rest | Nothing: keep the evening for sleep and preparation |
| An official dinner or reception at night | A run in the morning | Nothing, or light work in the hotel's own gym |
| A spare day before the flight home | The longest run of the visit, early | A full session, coached if you want one |
Check Khalifa Park's own opening times before planning a run there. This page cannot confirm them.
If you work for a government entity in Abu Dhabi rather than visiting one, the guide for government employees covers a full working week instead of a visit of a few days.
What the park covers, and what needs a strength floor
A park gives you distance and fresh air, not a barbell. On a visit of a few days that split works well: running needs only shoes, and the strength work is what justifies the drive.
- In the park: easy runs and strides in the cooler months, and only first light or after sunset from May to September.
- At RPM: heavy leg and back work on the squat rack with colour bumper plates and the plate-loaded machines, then sled pushes on the turf lane.
- In the hotel's gym: light upper-body work and stretching on days without a trip, keeping in mind that the hotel describes it as a shared space. For judging any gym from where you sleep, see the hotel-door method for choosing a gym.
- For women in a delegation who would rather lift among women only, RPM's Ladies section has its own strength and cardio equipment and the Pilates studio.
- Dizziness or nausea on a hot run is the signal to stop, cool down in the shade and call for medical help if it lingers.
The longer drive across the island, and when to make it
From the Park Complex, the route box counts the drive as a longer trip across the island, finishing on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street (Airport Road) into AD HUB. That length is the reason to keep RPM to one or two visits on a short official trip. If a driver is assigned to your delegation, ask to be dropped at AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal. If you drive yourself, use the free on-site parking at AD HUB, then the lift to Level 4.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Early-morning and late-evening opening, with shorter Friday hours, leaves room for a session once most official programmes have wound down.
Access, colleagues and getting back in time
- Before you travel, ask the team whether a day pass or a weekly pass is available for your dates and what it covers. Passes are time-sensitive, so have price and inclusions confirmed.
- If colleagues want to come, each person's access is confirmed separately. Men train in the Mixed section, and women can choose either section.
- Leave a margin before an evening function. Hairdryers and products wait in the grooming hub, and your bag can go in a keypad locker in the changing area. Ask the team about showers before you plan to dress at the club.
- If your organisation sends people to Abu Dhabi often, its HR team can ask RPM about corporate arrangements, which are set per organisation and confirmed on enquiry.

Questions, answered.
Is RPM inside Khalifa Park, or part of Park Rotana?
Neither. RPM has one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, and no link to the hotel or the park. The route box shows the mapped drive from the Park Complex.
Is the park open early enough for a run before my meetings?
Check the park's own opening times, which RPM cannot confirm. If it is closed when you need it, a treadmill covers the run instead.
Can I go from RPM straight to an official dinner?
Yes, with planning. Carry formal clothes in a garment bag rather than folded into a kit bag, get ready in the grooming hub, and allow for evening traffic on the way back.
My visit falls in Ramadan and I am fasting. Should I still train?
Keep it light. Check the club's Ramadan hours with the team, train after iftar once you have eaten and had water, and leave the park runs out during the day.
Will a session before a long day of meetings leave me tired?
A hard one can. On a meeting day, stay with weights you know and stop well short of your limit. Keep the heavy session for the spare day before you fly.
