Downtown for two nights, with one hour to spare
Ramada by Wyndham Abu Dhabi Downtown is a hotel in the city centre. Its website lists a fitness centre, an outdoor pool and a sauna, which may be all a two-night stay needs.
This page is for guests in town for a weekend, a family visit or a short work trip who still want one proper session somewhere with more room than a hotel gym. RPM is close by road but has nothing to do with the hotel: its single club is on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal. Start with a two-night guest's quick guide to RPM's location.
Arrival evening, middle day or check-out morning?
| Slot | For it | Against it | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| The evening you arrive | You feel restless after the flight | Travel fatigue, and access may not be sorted yet | Only for a short, easy visit |
| The middle day | A whole day to place the session in | It competes with sightseeing or meetings | Usually the strongest option |
| The morning you leave | The stay ends on a good note | Check-out, packing and the airport all press on it | Only with a late flight and luggage arranged |
If the middle day is packed, its evening works too. Late opening leaves room after dinner, and the drive back downtown is a short one.
Give the hour one aim
One session cannot cover everything, so decide what it is for before you arrive. Pick one line from this list.
- A strength sample on the squat rack with colour bumper plates, the plate-loaded machines and the cable towers.
- Conditioning on the turf lane, with sled pushes, battle ropes and the heavy bags in short rounds.
- A coached hour through personal training, if you want your technique checked. Book it ahead, since coaches' availability varies.
- For women, a reformer class in the Pilates studio inside the women-only Ladies section. The timetable changes, so ask what runs on your date.
- Heat and cold in the recovery suite, if your access includes it. Pregnancy or a heart condition means asking a doctor first.
The bag for one visit
| Pack | Why | Skip it if |
|---|---|---|
| Trainers with a firm, flat sole | They work under a barbell and on a treadmill | Never: sandals will not do the job |
| One set of training clothes | One session needs one set | Never |
| A water bottle | You will want water before and after | Never |
| Clothes for afterwards | You may head straight out to dinner or a meeting | You are going straight back to the hotel |
| A small wash bag | For getting ready at the club | You will freshen up at the hotel |
| A towel | Towels at the club are not confirmed, so ask | The team tells you one is not needed |
Leave the hairdryer behind, since the grooming hub has hairdryers and products. Phone, keys and wallet go in a keypad locker in the changing area.
From downtown by Salam Street, with access agreed first
The mapped route follows Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street (Salam Street) and ends on Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Street into AD HUB, a short drive with the figures in the route box. A taxi from downtown is the easy option. With a car, AD HUB's free on-site parking and the lift to Level 4 keep the arrival simple.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
- Message the team a day or two ahead with your date and the slot you have in mind.
- Ask whether a day pass is available for that date and what it includes. It is time-sensitive, so have the price confirmed before you go.
- Women can check whether the pass covers the Ladies section and any class they want.
- Leaving the same day? Ask about space for luggage before you bring a suitcase.

Questions, answered.
Is RPM part of the Ramada?
No. The hotel and RPM are separate businesses, and RPM trains people at one address only: Level 4, AD HUB Sports Complex, Al Manhal. It is close to downtown by road, and the route box shows the mapped estimates.
The hotel has a gym. Why leave it for one session?
Only if the session you want needs more than the hotel lists. Heavy barbell work, the sled, a coach or a women-only floor are the usual reasons, and the guide to hotel gyms and full gyms helps you weigh them. For a treadmill run and some stretching, stay where you are.
Can I turn up without messaging first?
Message first. Access on a given day, and what it includes, is confirmed by the team, and a wasted taxi ride on a two-night stay is an hour you will not get back.
How long should the session be?
Long enough for the one aim you chose, which for most people means around an hour including changing. Much longer starts to eat into a short stay.
Can I train on check-out day and go straight to the airport?
Yes, with a late flight. Keep the session moderate, get ready in the grooming hub, and ask the team beforehand about luggage, since the keypad lockers suit a kit bag rather than a suitcase.
