A Tourist Club Area stay, with an eye on spending
Southern Sun Abu Dhabi is a hotel in Al Zahiyah (the Tourist Club Area). The hotel's website lists a fitness centre for its guests, with a gym, a sauna and steam rooms, as well as a rooftop pool.
This page is for business guests watching what they spend, who can already use the hotel's gym and want to know whether paying for a pass at a full gym is worth it. There is no arrangement between the hotel and RPM, whose single club is on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal. Start with RPM's one club, sized up before you spend on a pass.
What you would actually be paying for
Start with the session, not the pass. If the hotel's fitness centre can host it, a pass adds a cost and a taxi ride for nothing. Ask the hotel what its gym holds, then use the table.
| The session you want | What to check first | Worth a pass? |
|---|---|---|
| Treadmill, bike or light dumbbells | Ask the hotel what its gym holds | Rarely |
| Sauna or steam after training | The hotel's website lists both | Not on its own |
| Heavy squats or deadlifts with bumper plates | Whether the hotel gym has a rack and plates | Yes, if this is your main session |
| Sled pushes, battle ropes or bag work | Whether the hotel gym has any of them | Yes |
| An hour with a coach, or a class | Whether RPM includes coaching or a class with the pass, or charges for it separately | Often, if it is the point of the visit |
| Training among women only | Whether the pass covers RPM's Ladies section | Yes, if that matters to you |
RPM's floor photos show a squat rack with colour bumper plates, plate-loaded machines and cable towers, and the functional area has a turf lane with a sled, battle ropes and heavy bags. Heat rooms, here or at the hotel, do not suit everyone: if you are pregnant or have a heart condition, ask a doctor first.
The cost of one session, worked through with letters
RPM does not publish prices online, so this sum uses letters. Fill them in once the team has confirmed what is available for your dates.
| Plan for the week | What you pay | Cost per session |
|---|---|---|
| One visit on a day pass | D + 2T | D + 2T |
| Two visits on day passes | 2D + 4T | D + 2T |
| Three visits on a weekly pass | W + 6T | (W + 6T) ÷ 3 |
D is the day-pass price, W the weekly-pass price and T a taxi fare one way. With a hire car, T drops out, because AD HUB has free on-site parking.
Two things fall out of the sum. The taxi is part of the price, so a session only slightly better than the hotel gym rarely justifies both. And a weekly pass only pays off if the third visit really happens. For the break-even sum in more detail, see single days against a week's pass.
Spend nothing, spend once, or spend for the week
| Choice | When it makes sense | What to ask the team |
|---|---|---|
| Spend nothing | Your sessions are cardio, light weights and the hotel's sauna | Nothing yet, though the free guided tour is worth booking if you may join later |
| Spend once | One heavy or coached session would make the trip | Whether a day pass is available on your date, and what it includes |
| Spend for the week | Three or more sessions that the hotel cannot host | Whether a weekly pass is available, and which section it covers |
Before you pay for anything, ask the team to confirm availability and price for your dates. A day pass and a weekly pass are both time-sensitive, and what each includes can change.
If your employer covers wellness costs on trips, check your expense policy before you book, and ask the team whether they can give you a receipt.
Corniche Street, then Airport Road to AD HUB
The mapped route from the hotel runs along Corniche Street and finishes on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street (Airport Road) into AD HUB. The route box rates it a short cross-island trip. Arriving in a hire car, use the free on-site parking at AD HUB and take the lift to Level 4.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Opening runs from early morning to late evening, with a shorter Friday, so a session can sit either side of the working day without eating into meetings.

Questions, answered.
Is RPM connected to Southern Sun?
No. RPM has one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, and no arrangement with the hotel. The route box shows the mapped drive from Al Zahiyah.
Can I look around before I pay for anything?
Yes. Book the free guided tour, a walk round the club with someone from the team. It is not a workout, so it will not replace a session, but it costs nothing and shows you whether a pass would be worth it.
The hotel has a sauna. Is RPM's recovery suite worth paying for?
Probably not on its own, since the hotel's website lists a sauna and steam rooms. RPM's suite adds an ice bath alongside its Finnish sauna and aroma steam room. Ask whether a pass includes it, and if you are pregnant or have a heart condition, check with a doctor before using heat or cold.
Will my company pay?
That depends on your employer's travel policy, so check it before you book. If your organisation sends staff to Abu Dhabi often, it may be worth your HR team asking RPM about a corporate arrangement. Those are set per organisation and confirmed on enquiry.
Why are there no prices on this page?
RPM does not publish prices online, and passes change. The team shares current prices, availability and inclusions when you message with your dates.
