Offices on Al Bateen Street, a club in Al Manhal
The Abu Dhabi Energy Center stands on Al Bateen Street in Al Khubeirah, on the western side of the island. This page is about the people who work there and in the offices around it. It is not about the organisations inside, and it makes no claims about them.
RPM is one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, and the route box rates the trip from the Energy Center a short cross-island trip. That makes the question one of timing more than distance. For the general checks, see whether RPM fits the gaps in an office day.
A one-week test: lunch on two days, evenings on two
Do not decide from your desk. Run one ordinary week, with no travel and no deadline in it, and try each slot twice.
| Day | Slot to test | What to note |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | Lunch | Time actually spent on the floor, once both legs of the drive and changing are counted |
| Tuesday | After work | Whether you left on time, and how the drive home felt afterwards |
| Wednesday | Lunch | How the first hour back at your desk went |
| Thursday | After work | Whether the session still happened at the end of a long week |
| Friday | Rest, or a short early session | Shorter club hours and the midday prayers shape the day |
Go by your own notes, not by someone else's routine. A slot that worked twice in an ordinary week is worth fixing in the calendar.
Most people find that the evening slot holds and the lunch slot depends on the day. That is fine: fix the evenings, and keep lunch for days when your calendar is clear after it.
When lunch does work from Al Khubeirah
A lunch session at RPM is realistic only when all four of these hold:
- Your break is long, or flexible enough to run over without anyone minding.
- Nothing is booked for the first part of the afternoon.
- The session is short and planned: one main lift and a finisher, decided before you leave.
- You can look presentable again quickly. Keypad lockers in the changing area hold your work clothes, and the grooming hub has hairdryers and products at its vanity area. Ask about showers, and whether towels are provided, before relying on them.
If even one of these fails on most days, move the session to the evening and keep lunch for a short walk or nothing at all. The guide to training at lunch works through the timing in more detail.
After work: heading out from the western side
For most office staff the evening is the dependable slot, because nothing on an office calendar is booked once you leave. The mapped route runs along Zayed The First Street (Electra Street), then Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street (Airport Road) into Al Manhal, where parking at AD HUB is free and on site and a lift goes up to Level 4.
- Put your kit in the car in the morning, so you drive straight from the office.
- Set a firm leaving time on training days and tell your team about it.
- Keep one spare evening a week for the day a meeting overruns.
- Eat something light in the afternoon, so you are not training on an empty stomach after a long day.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Expect early-morning and late-evening opening, with a shorter day on Fridays. Ramadan has its own timetable at the club, and office hours often change during the month as well.
Bringing colleagues: what to put to HR
If a few people in your office want to train, an arrangement through your employer may suit everyone better than separate memberships. Corporate arrangements are tailored to each organisation and confirmed on enquiry, so the useful step is to give HR a clear picture.
Give them the sum rather than the enthusiasm, written with letters until the team quotes real figures: N people interested, S sessions each a week, M for one person's membership and P for whatever arrangement RPM proposes. Compare N × M with P, then divide each by the sessions people will really make.
Two points usually matter in a mixed office. Men and women can train together in the Mixed section, and women who prefer to can use the women-only Ladies section if the arrangement covers it.
Questions, answered.
Is RPM in the Abu Dhabi Energy Center or in Al Khubeirah?
No. RPM's only club is in Al Manhal, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex, a short cross-island trip from the Energy Center, with the mapped estimates in the route box.
Does my employer already have an arrangement with RPM?
This page cannot tell you, because arrangements are made organisation by organisation. Ask your HR team, and if nothing exists, they can ask RPM what is possible.
My hours are flexible. Can I train in the middle of the afternoon?
Yes, if your work allows it. A flexible day lets the session go wherever the calendar is empty. Ask the team which hours tend to be quieter on the floor.
I would rather not train in a mixed area at lunch. What are my options?
Women can use the Ladies section, which is reserved for women and has its own strength and cardio floor plus the Pilates studio. Female coaches on the roster work there, and your tier has to include it, so check that before a lunch visit.
What if I start working from home on some days?
A day at home frees the middle of the day. If home is on the island, a midday session on that day may suit you better than lunch from the office.
