Let your office hours pick the slot
Seen from Mohammed Bin Zayed City, out on the mainland, the drive to Al Manhal is a mainland commute. Made from home for its own sake, it rarely lasts as a habit. Driven as part of a working day in central Abu Dhabi, it becomes a stop rather than a separate trip. How RPM's location plays against your daily drive covers the general checks. This page is about choosing the slot.
| How your office day runs | Slot that tends to hold | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Early start, finish in the early afternoon | After work | You often leave the office before the evening rush builds, with time to train and still be home for the evening |
| Standard office hours | Either, so test both | Mornings need an early alarm, and evenings are exposed to late meetings |
| Late or flexible finish | Before work | An evening slot keeps getting pushed back by the day's overruns |
| Hybrid, with home days in MBZ City | Office days only | On home days, train locally or rest |
| Shifts that change every week | Whichever slot that week's rota allows | Fixed slots break on a moving rota, so book week by week |
The two routines compared
| Question | Before work | After work |
|---|---|---|
| When you leave MBZ City | Earlier than on a day without training | At your usual time |
| What goes in the car | Training kit, office clothes and a wash bag | Training kit and a snack for the afternoon |
| Where you get ready | At the club, with keypad lockers and the grooming hub's vanity area (ask about showers and whether towels are provided) | At home, after the drive back |
| What tends to go wrong | A late night, then a missed alarm | A meeting that runs on, then a missed session |
| Effect on home life | Shorter mornings at home | Later homecomings on training evenings |
If mornings win, the grooming hub is where you change for the office: a vanity area with hairdryers and products. The before-work training guide sets out how to handle the early night and the quick breakfast that a morning session needs.
Al Ain Road, then into Al Manhal
The mapped route from Mohammed Bin Zayed City follows Al Ain Road and then Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street (Airport Road) into AD HUB. Leave the car in the free on-site parking and take the lift to Level 4.
The route box measures home to club. On an after-work day your real legs are office to club and then club to home. On a morning day they are home to club and then club to office. Time both legs of the routine you pick at its real hour, because the mapped minimum assumes traffic that is moving freely.
Four weeks to find out which slot sticks
| Week | Plan | What to note |
|---|---|---|
| First | Two before-work sessions | Whether you made the alarm, and how the office morning went |
| Second | Two after-work sessions | Whether you left the office on time, and when you got home |
| Third | Three sessions in the slot that went better | Whether three a week is sustainable, or two is the honest number |
| Fourth | Your chosen routine, unchanged | Whether it held through an ordinary week with no special effort |
Start with the free guided tour at the hour of your likely slot. For the trial itself, ask whether a weekly pass is available. Passes are time-sensitive, and the team confirms availability, price and inclusions.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
When neither slot works
- Your office moves to a mainland site, so the island is no longer on your way.
- School drop-off and pick-up both fall to you on most days.
- Your working hours change so often that no slot survives a fortnight.
In those cases a gym by home is the practical answer. Keep RPM for a weekend visit when you want something specific: a coached session, the women-only Ladies section with its Pilates studio, or the recovery suite.
Questions, answered.
Will I be training in MBZ City or in Al Manhal?
In Al Manhal. RPM has one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex on the island, and nothing in Mohammed Bin Zayed City. The route box shows the mapped estimates for the trip.
Which slot is less tiring on top of a long drive?
It varies by person. Some people find a morning session wakes them up for the drive and the desk. Others feel stiff and slow at that hour and train better after work. The four-week trial is the honest way to find out.
Could I train at lunch from a central office instead?
Only if your break is long and the drive from your desk to AD HUB and back fits inside it with time to train. Time the office-to-club leg before you plan around it.
What should I do on Fridays?
The club keeps shorter Friday hours, and midday prayers shape the day. Moving the Friday session to Saturday morning is often simpler than squeezing it in.
Does Ramadan change the routine?
Usually. Office hours and the club's hours can both shift during the month, so check the adjusted times. Some people move training to after iftar, and others train locally until the month ends.
