A sports club membership already in your wallet
Abu Dhabi Country Club is a sports and leisure club in Abu Dhabi, and the route box above measures from it as mapped. This page is for its members, and their families, who are wondering whether a separate gym is worth paying for as well. It makes no claims about the club's facilities. You know those better than anyone writing from outside.
RPM is one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, and the route box rates the drive a short cross-island trip. A second membership is a real cost in money and in time, so it has to buy something specific. Before the details, read what RPM's single club adds to a sports-club membership.
Audit your own club before you add another
Answer these from your club's own information or its front desk. Each no is a possible reason to look elsewhere, and each yes is a reason to stay put.
- Is there a free-weight area with a rack, a barbell and room to lift without waiting?
- Can a coach write you a progressive strength programme and check it each week?
- Is there a training area reserved for women, if anyone in your family wants one?
- Are there Pilates classes on apparatus, not only on the mat?
- Is there a sauna, a steam room or a cold plunge, and are you allowed to use it?
- Do the gym's hours suit the times you can actually train?
If every answer is yes, keep one membership and spend the difference on something else.
Gaps a full gym can fill
| If your club lacks | What RPM has | Ask on the tour |
|---|---|---|
| One-to-one strength coaching | Personal training, and the Atelier tier built around one-to-one coaching | Which coach suits your goal, and how sessions are booked |
| A women-only floor | The women-only Ladies section, with its own floor and the Pilates studio | Whether your tier includes the Ladies section |
| Reformer Pilates | Reformer classes in the Ladies section's studio, for women | Which apparatus a class uses, and the timetable |
| A full strength floor | A squat rack with colour bumper plates, plate-loaded machines, cable towers and dumbbells | How busy the floor is at your hour |
| Heat and cold once you finish | A Finnish sauna, an aroma steam room and an ice bath | Whether your tier covers the recovery suite |
| Conditioning with a coach | Fitness boxing and HYROX-style training on the functional floor | What a session covers. RPM is independent, not an official HYROX venue |
Pregnancy or a heart condition means a word with your doctor before any sauna, steam room or ice bath.
If coaching is the gap, personal training at RPM is planned around your goal and schedule, which for a club member may include tennis or swimming days.
Two memberships, one week, and the cost of each visit
Members who keep both usually give each place a clear job. The club keeps the sport and the social side, and RPM takes the strength work.
| Day | At your club | At RPM |
|---|---|---|
| Saturday | A match or a swim with the family | Nothing |
| Sunday | Rest or a light swim | Strength session one |
| Tuesday | Racquet sport after work | Nothing |
| Wednesday | Nothing | Strength session two, or a coached session |
| Thursday | A social game | Nothing, or the recovery suite if your tier includes it |
Keep the heaviest leg session away from the day before a match you care about.
Then do the sum honestly. Cost per visit = [RPM membership fee for the month] ÷ [RPM visits you really make in that month]. If that figure is higher than you would happily pay for one coached or specialist session, the second membership is not earning its keep. Prices are shared on enquiry, not online.
Family members with different reasons
- A partner who wants women-only training can use the Ladies section, where Coach Maria is on the roster as a strength and conditioning coach and Imen Hasnaoui as the combat and self-defence coach.
- A teenager can start with youth fitness, which is coach-supervised and arranged and approved by a parent or guardian. Ask which ages each session takes.
- One person may need the coaching while the others are happy at the club. Not everyone in the family needs the second membership.
Getting across, and testing the idea
The route box measures the trip from the club as mapped and rates it a short cross-island one. Arrival means free on-site parking at AD HUB and a lift ride to Level 4.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Book the free guided tour and bring your audit answers. To test the split week before committing, ask whether a weekly pass is available. Pass terms change, so check with the team whether one is on sale and what it covers.
Questions, answered.
Is RPM part of Abu Dhabi Country Club?
No. RPM is an independent club with a single location, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, and it has no arrangement with the country club. The mapped trip is in the route box.
Can I keep my club membership and add RPM?
Yes. Plenty of people keep a sports club for its courts, pool or social life and add a gym for coached strength work. Count the visits each one will really get before you pay for both.
Which RPM tier suits a second membership?
Floor covers the training floor if you lift on your own. Engine layers coached programming on top, and Atelier revolves around one-to-one sessions. The team confirms what each includes and the price when you ask.
Can men use the Pilates studio?
No. The studio sits inside the Ladies section, which is for women only. Men train in the Mixed section, and the recovery suite is a question to ask about for your tier.
I only want coaching once a week. Is that worth a membership?
It might not be. Ask the team what options exist for a weekly coached session, and compare the cost per visit with what you would pay for the same coaching elsewhere.
