Parents at Family Park: an hour of training around family outings

Yes, if the two adults take turns or the session sits outside the children's hours. RPM is one club in Al Manhal, a short cross-island trip from Family Park, so it works as a planned hour for one parent while the other has the children, rather than a stop during the outing itself. Mothers who prefer a women-only space can use the Ladies section and its Pilates studio.

The park belongs to the children, so plan an hour that belongs to you

Family Park is a park mapped in western Al Markaziyah, and the route box above measures from it. Many families make it a weekend outing, and this page is for the ones who would also like to train themselves, without taking time away from the family.

RPM is not at the park. It is one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, and a short cross-island trip away. Before you plan, read where RPM is, and what parents should check before the first visit. The trick that works for most families is simple: one parent trains while the other has the children, and then you swap.

The point is that neither session eats into the park. If you have one car, the parent heading out with the children can drop the other at AD HUB and collect them later. For more ways to make short weeks count, see training when you are a parent with little time.

Weekday hours that families tend to keep

  • Before the house wakes up: the club opens early, so a session can be over before breakfast and the school run.
  • During school hours, if your work allows it, with the drive back timed around pick-up.
  • After the children's bedtime: late closing leaves room for an evening session once one parent is home.
  • Fridays: club hours are shorter and the middle of the day belongs to prayers and family, so a morning slot is the realistic one.

Friday09:00–22:00

Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.

From May to September, park visits tend to move to the evening, after the heat. If that is your family's pattern, shift your own training to the morning so the two never compete.

When the children come along

Older children and teenagers can train too. Youth fitness is coach-supervised and arranged and approved by a parent or guardian, so ask which ages each session accepts. If the timings line up, you can train in your own section while they are in theirs.

Younger children are a different matter. This page cannot confirm any childcare or play area at the club, so ask the team before you plan on bringing them. If nobody can mind them while you train, that is the real limit on a gym visit, whichever gym you choose.

Mothers who would rather train among women can use the Ladies section, with its own strength and cardio equipment and female coaches on the roster. The Pilates studio inside it runs reformer classes, and the studio photos show reformers, trapeze-table frames and a ladder barrel, so ask which apparatus a class uses.

From Family Park to AD HUB

The mapped route finishes along Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street (Airport Road) into Al Manhal, and the figures in the route box describe a short cross-island trip. Busy afternoons, and the evening run to the shops, add to it.

The car goes in AD HUB's free on-site parking, and the lift takes you to Level 4. For a first look, book the free guided tour at the hour you would actually train, not in the middle of a family afternoon, and ask about the quieter times for the section you would use.

// Frequently Asked

Questions, answered.

Is RPM at Family Park?

No. There is just one RPM, and it is on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal. From Family Park it is a short cross-island trip, and the mapped estimates are in the route box above.

Is there childcare or a kids' area at RPM?

This page cannot confirm either, so ask the team before you plan on bringing young children. Youth fitness sessions are coach-supervised for the ages they accept.

How long does a session need to be for a busy parent?

Shorter than you might think. A warm-up, a couple of main lifts and a short finisher fit into well under a morning. A coach can build a programme around the time you really have.

I had a baby recently. Can I start Pilates or strength training?

Get the go-ahead from your doctor or midwife first, as recovery after birth differs from one woman to the next. Then tell the coach or instructor where you are, and ask which apparatus a class uses.

Can both parents share one membership?

Ask the team how memberships work for two adults in one household. Which sections each covers depends on the tier, so compare Floor, Engine and Atelier for each of you. Prices are confirmed on enquiry.
