An outdoor island and an indoor gym
Hudayriyat Island is an island reached by bridge. Its official website describes it as a leisure and sports destination, and lists cycling, watersports and beach sports among the ways to stay active there. RPM is not on the island. It is one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal on the main island, and from Hudayriyat it is a longer bridge trip.
This page is for people who already train outdoors on Hudayriyat and want the indoor half of the picture: lifting, conditioning out of the midday heat, a coach, and heat and cold afterwards. If you are still deciding whether RPM is practical from your home, start with the page on timing the drive to RPM from anywhere in the city.
What indoor training adds to an outdoor sport
| Your outdoor sport | Indoor work to discuss with a coach | Where it happens at RPM |
|---|---|---|
| Cycling | Leg and hip strength, plus trunk work | The squat rack, the plate-loaded leg press and the cable towers |
| Watersports | Upper-back, shoulder and grip strength | The pulldown machine, cable towers, dumbbells and kettlebells |
| Beach sports | Jumping, sprinting and change-of-direction conditioning | The turf lane with a sled, slam balls and step boxes |
| Any of them in summer | Conditioning when midday is too hot outside | Treadmills, cross-trainers, an upright bike and spin bikes |
This is general training information, not medical advice. If you have an injury or a health condition, speak to a doctor or physiotherapist before you add new work to your week.
A coach can match the programme to your sport and your season. If you are unsure whether you need a general personal trainer or a coach focused on performance, read personal trainer or strength and conditioning coach before you book.
Cooler months and summer months
Outdoor sport in Abu Dhabi follows the calendar. From May to September, outdoor sessions tend to shrink to early mornings and evenings, and more of the work moves indoors. Plan the two halves of the year differently.
| Cooler months | Summer months | |
|---|---|---|
| Outdoor sessions | Most of your training, at the hours you like | Early morning or after sunset, and shorter |
| Indoor sessions at RPM | Strength once or twice a week | Strength plus conditioning, as more work comes indoors |
| Which leads the week | Outdoor days lead, gym days support them | Gym days lead, outdoor days fit around the heat |
| The drive to Al Manhal | Its own trip on indoor days | Its own trip, timed away from the office rush |
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Fridays are shorter at the club, and Ramadan can change the times, so check the hours before you plan an indoor day around them.
Heat and cold after a hard outdoor week
The recovery suite combines a Finnish sauna, an aroma steam room and an ice bath. If you use it, the end of your hardest strength session of the week is a natural slot. Before you plan around it, settle these points with the team:
- Which membership tiers, and which passes, include the recovery suite.
- How the suite is shared, and what to bring.
- Whether it suits you at all. Pregnancy or a heart condition means asking your doctor before using heat or cold.
After a long day in the sun, extra heat may be the last thing you want, and plain rest is a perfectly good choice. Decide with your own doctor's advice in mind, not a gym's.
From the island to Al Manhal
The mapped route crosses Hudayriyat Bridge and follows Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street, then the final stretch on Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Street into AD HUB. There is free on-site parking and a lift to Level 4. The figures in the route box assume clear roads, so expect more at busy hours.
- If you come straight from the beach or a trail, bring a clean pair of training shoes and dry kit, and ask the team about the floor rules.
- The changing area has keypad lockers for your bag.
- Ask whether towels are provided before you rely on it.
Book the free guided tour on an indoor day, at the hour you would train, and see the strength floor and the functional area while you are there.

Questions, answered.
Is RPM on Hudayriyat Island?
No. RPM has a single club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal on the main island. From Hudayriyat it is a longer bridge trip, with the mapped estimates in the route box above.
Can I go straight from an outdoor session to RPM?
You can, but it makes for a long day. Bring dry kit and clean shoes, and ask the team about showers before you plan on it. Separate indoor days are usually easier to keep.
I am only in Abu Dhabi for a short stay. Can I train at RPM?
Ask whether a day pass or a weekly pass is available. Passes are time-sensitive, so the team confirms availability, price and inclusions.
Do coaches plan around a particular sport?
Personal training at RPM is built around your goal and schedule, so tell the coach your sport, your season and your outdoor days. Ask on the tour which coach fits that plan.
Is there an indoor space for women only?
Yes. The Ladies section is a women-only area with its own strength and cardio floor and the Pilates studio. Confirm that your membership tier covers it.
