Two reasons to want both under one roof
The first is a household. A husband wants a mixed floor, his wife wants a women-only space, and a teenager may join later. One club lets them arrive together and train at the same hour in different rooms. The second is a single woman who wants a choice from day to day: Pilates and lifting among women on most days, and the mixed floor when she trains with her husband or brother, or wants kit the women-only space does not hold.
The RPM Gym page gives the overview of a club with both spaces. Whether one shared club beats two separate memberships for a couple, on cost and contracts, is covered in one club or two memberships. This page maps who can use which space.
Who trains where at RPM
| Who | Mixed section | Ladies section and Pilates studio | Coaching to ask about | Confirm before joining |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A man | Yes, this is where men train | No, both are for women only | Coaches listed for the Mixed section, such as Amer Khalil or Issam Almasaalmeh | Which tier covers the recovery suite and coaching |
| A woman who wants a women-only space only | Not needed | Yes | Female coaches in the Ladies section, such as Coach Maria | That her tier covers the Ladies section and how Pilates sessions are included |
| A woman who wants both | Yes, if her tier covers it | Yes | Either section's coaches | Section access for both, in writing |
| A couple training at the same hour | He trains here, and she can join him if her tier covers it | She can train here while he is on the Mixed floor | One coach each, or separate sessions | Each person's tier, which may differ |
| A teenager | Ask where youth sessions run | Ask where youth sessions run | Coach-supervised youth fitness, arranged and approved by a parent or guardian | Which ages each session accepts |
| A visiting relative | Depends on the pass | Depends on the pass, women only | Ask whether a short-stay visitor can book a coach | Whether a day or weekly pass is available, its price and which sections it reaches |
Which sections a membership covers depends on the tier. Get each person's answer separately, because a household may need two different tiers.
A woman's week across both spaces
Women who hold access to both often settle into a pattern like this one, mostly in the women-only space with one visit to the mixed floor.
| Day | Session | Space | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sunday | Reformer class | Pilates studio, Ladies section | Women only, with the studio's apparatus |
| Tuesday | Strength session | Ladies section | Her plan fits the section's equipment |
| Thursday | Pilates or a second strength session | Ladies section | Whichever suits the week |
| Saturday | Training with her husband, then bag rounds | Mixed section and its functional area | Time together, plus the heavy bags |
If she never uses the mixed floor in practice, she may not need a tier that covers it. Track a month before renewing.
Running a household across two spaces
- Agree a meeting point and time. You will usually finish in different places, so decide where to wait and ask the team where that can be.
- Match session lengths. A reformer class and a long lifting session rarely end together. Plan the shorter one to finish first, or bring something to do.
- Keep one shared note of each person's tier, renewal date and what it covers.
- Plan around Friday. Hours are shorter that day, and Friday prayers and family time often take the middle of it.
- Do not plan around childcare. RPM does not list it, so ask before you count on it.
For teenagers, youth fitness at RPM explains how coach-supervised sessions are arranged with a parent or guardian.
Touring both sections as a family
A tour of a two-section club goes smoothly when it is planned around who is coming.
- Tell the team who is visiting and which spaces each person wants to see.
- Expect to split up. The Ladies section is for women only, so men see the Mixed section while the women see theirs. Ask how the tour is arranged.
- Ask to see the route into the Ladies section and the changing area each person would use.
- Visit at the hour you would really train, so both spaces look as they will on a normal day.
- Compare notes in the car park before you leave, while it is fresh.
Where RPM fits, and where it does not
RPM is one club on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, with free on-site parking and a lift to Level 4. The Mixed section covers strength, cardio, functional training and fitness boxing for men and women. Women who want their own space have the Ladies section, which keeps strength and cardio kit of its own and houses the Pilates studio. Membership comes in three tiers, Floor, Engine and Atelier, and the free guided tour is a walk-through, not a workout.
- Men cannot use the Pilates studio, because it sits inside the women-only Ladies section.
- RPM is not a club that admits only women, so the building is shared even though the Ladies section is not.
- RPM has one location. If your workplaces are far apart, one of you may detour.
- Prices and tier inclusions are not published, so ask for each person's options in writing.
Questions, answered.
Can women use the Mixed section at RPM?
Yes. The Mixed section is open to men and women. Whether your membership covers it depends on the tier.
Can my husband and I train at the same time?
Yes, in different sections or together on the Mixed floor if your tier covers it. Ask whether you can book a tour at the hour you both plan to train.
Can my teenage daughter train in the Ladies section?
Youth training at RPM is coach-supervised and arranged with a parent or guardian. Ask which ages each session accepts and where it runs.
Can a visiting sister use the Ladies section for a week?
Ask whether a weekly pass is currently available, what it costs and whether it reaches the Ladies section. Passes change, so confirm before she arrives.
