Staying in Al Manhal, where RPM is
Marriott Hotel Downtown Abu Dhabi is a hotel in Al Manhal, the district where RPM's only club sits on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex. The two are close by road but entirely separate: RPM has no connection with the hotel, and the club is not inside it.
This page is for guests on short stays, a few nights for work or a visit, who want a full gym close to where they sleep and, more than that, some time with a coach while they are here. Read RPM's club for guests already staying in Al Manhal, then decide how many coached sessions the stay can hold.
What one, two or three coached sessions can cover
On a short stay, the useful question is what you want to take home. Book with that in mind.
| Sessions | What to ask the coach for | What you leave with |
|---|---|---|
| One | A technique check on the lifts you care about most | Clear cues and notes for your own gym |
| Two | A movement check and a plan in the first, then a run-through of the plan in the second | A written plan you have already tried once |
| Three | The same as two, plus a session late in the stay to adjust loads and fix what slipped | A rehearsed plan, with starting weights |
| Any number, for women | Reformer work in the Pilates studio, or strength or combat fitness in the Ladies section | A sense of whether to keep it up at home |
Coaches on the roster cover strength, conditioning, Pilates, combat fitness and physique training across both sections. Ask the team which coach suits your goal and has room on your dates.
Brief the coach before you arrive
A short stay leaves no time for a get-to-know-you session. Send the essentials ahead through the team, so the first session starts with training.
- Your goal for the next few months, in one sentence.
- How long you have been training, and what a normal week looks like.
- Your current programme, if you follow one, and videos of the lifts you want checked.
- The equipment you have at home or at your usual gym, so the plan travels with you.
- Any injury or pain. If something still hurts or limits you, see a doctor or physiotherapist first, because coaching is no substitute for either.
- The days and hours you have open, including the morning you leave.
Times that work because the club is close
When the gym is a short drive from the hotel, slots that would be unworkable from further away start to make sense.
| Slot | Why it works from Al Manhal |
|---|---|
| Before breakfast | Train at opening and be back for breakfast with time to spare |
| A gap between afternoon meetings | The trip is short enough to fit a session into the middle of the day |
| After dinner | Late opening leaves room for a session once the day is over |
| The morning you leave | Train, get ready at the club and check out afterwards. Ask the team about space for luggage, since the keypad lockers hold a kit bag. |
The mapped route finishes on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street (Airport Road) into AD HUB, and the route box gives the figures. Arriving by car, use AD HUB's free on-site parking, then ride the lift to Level 4. A taxi works just as well for a trip this short.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Booking the sessions and the access
- Message the team with your dates, your goal and the slots you can do, and ask them to match you with a coach through personal training.
- Ask whether coached sessions include access to the club, or whether you also need a day pass. Passes are time-sensitive, so the team confirms price and availability for your dates.
- Women can ask for a female coach and check which section the booking covers.
- If you want the recovery suite after a session, ask whether it is included. Heat and cold do not suit everyone, and pregnancy or a heart condition means checking with a doctor first.
The nights-booked rule for leaving a hotel to train assumes a real drive across town. From a hotel in Al Manhal, the trip is short enough that a coached session can earn its place on a stay of a night or two.
Questions, answered.
Is RPM part of the Marriott Downtown?
No. RPM and the hotel are both in Al Manhal, and that is all they share. RPM's one club is on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex, and the route box shows the mapped drive from the hotel.
Can I book a coach for just one session?
Ask the team. Personal training at RPM is one-to-one coaching built around your goal, and whether a single session fits your dates depends on the coaches' availability.
I am a woman travelling alone. Is a female coach available?
Yes. Female coaches on the roster work in the Ladies section, which is for women only and has its own equipment and the Pilates studio. Ask for one when you book.
Is it worth training on the day I fly?
It can be, if the flight is later in the day. Train early, get ready at the grooming hub, which has hairdryers and products, and leave enough time for check-out and the airport. Before that morning, ask the team about showers and whether you need your own towel.
Will a coach build me a plan for home?
Ask for one when you book, and say what equipment you have at home. With two or three sessions, the coach can write the plan and watch you try it before you leave.
