Al Maqta households: training on the days you head into town

From Al Maqta, RPM in Al Manhal is a longer bridge trip, so a drive made only to train is hard to keep up alongside home life. It works best folded into the trips your household already makes into central Abu Dhabi: family visits, errands, appointments, a child's activity. On the days you stay home, train by home or rest.

Home at the bridge end, errands in town

Home in Al Maqta means living at the bridge end, on the mainland side of the water. Reaching RPM in Al Manhal takes you across onto the island, a longer island or bridge trip in the route box's terms. For a household, the hard part is rarely the road. It is finding a slot that does not take someone away from home for a whole extra outing. So this page starts from the trips into town your family makes anyway. For the questions to ask of any club across the water, read what to weigh before choosing RPM from beyond the bridges.

First, middle or last: where the session sits in an outing

PositionHow it worksSuitsWatch for
FirstTrain, then do the errands or the visitWeekend mornings, while your energy is highErrands that need you presentable afterwards
MiddleDrop someone at an activity, train while it runs, then collect themA child's lesson or a relative's appointment in townStart times that do not line up, leaving someone waiting
LastErrands or the visit first, then train before the drive homeWeekday evenings after a family visitRunning out of energy, or the session being cut short

Try each position once, then keep the one that fits your week. Changing it every time makes the routine harder to hold.

A month of outings, worked through

WeekThe outingThe session
OneA Saturday visit to relatives in central Abu DhabiA strength session first, then the visit
TwoA child's weekday lesson in townA coached session during the lesson, if the two start together
ThreeA weekend shopping runA short conditioning block in the functional area, then the shopping
FourAn evening appointment in the cityThe session afterwards, then home

That is four sessions in a month without a single drive made only for training. Add a second weekly visit only if you can pair it with an outing in the same way.

Outings can carry more than one person's training. Women in the family who want to train away from men have the Ladies section, with its own floor and the Pilates studio, while men use the Mixed section. Check which sections each tier covers.

The days you stay at home

On most days nobody in the household heads into town, and that is fine. For those days:

  • Walk or cycle outdoors in the cooler months, and move it indoors from May to September.
  • Do a short bodyweight routine at home.
  • Use a gym by home for anything routine.
  • Rest, which counts as part of the plan.

If you work with a coach, ask for the home days to be written around the sessions in town. RPM's coaches plan around your goal and your schedule, including the days you train elsewhere.

From Al Maqta' Street onto the island

The mapped route begins on Al Maqta' Street, the anchor for these figures in the Rabdan area, and uses Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street before finishing on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street (Airport Road) into AD HUB. If your home is elsewhere in Al Maqta, time the trip from your own door. Arrival is the same from anywhere: free on-site parking at AD HUB, then the lift to Level 4.

// Frequently Asked

Questions, answered.

How many RPM clubs are there?

One. It is on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, on the island. There is no club in Al Maqta, and the route box shows the mapped trip from there.

What if the outing runs late and the session gets squeezed?

Do a shorter version: the main lift or the coached block, then stop. A shortened session still keeps the habit going, which matters more than any single workout.

Can I get ready for the errands at the club?

Plan for it in advance. Use the keypad lockers in the changing area, then the vanity area in the grooming hub, stocked with hairdryers and products. Ask the team about showers, and whether towels are provided.

Which tier suits a few outings a month?

If you will visit about once a week, ask the team which tier or pass options suit that pattern. Inclusions and prices are confirmed on enquiry, and passes are time-sensitive.

What happens in the summer, when the family's plans change?

If the household travels, pause the plan and restart when you are back. If you stay in Abu Dhabi, outings that move indoors in the heat can still carry a session.
