Two gyms, two jobs
Al Raha Beach is a waterfront district on the mainland. By the route box's measure, getting from there to RPM in Al Manhal is a longer bridge trip. That is too far to replace a gym in your building for everyday use, and it does not need to. The building gym handles the short sessions. RPM takes the one session a week that needs more room, heavier equipment or a coach. For the general test of any club you would drive to, see where RPM stands for anyone driving in from the mainland.
What fills a long visit
A long visit earns the bridge trip by doing several things in one go. Here is a typical shape, to adjust with a coach:
| Block | What you do | Where at RPM |
|---|---|---|
| Warm-up | Easy cardio and mobility | Treadmills, cross-trainers, the upright bike or spin bikes |
| Main lift | The heavy work your building gym cannot host | Squat rack with colour bumper plates, fixed barbells and benches |
| Accessory work | Machine and cable work for the same muscle groups | Plate-loaded machines such as the leg press, and multi-station cable towers |
| Conditioning | A short, hard finisher | The turf lane with a sled, battle ropes and slam balls in the functional area |
| Recovery | Heat and cold, if they suit you | The recovery suite: Finnish sauna, aroma steam room and ice bath |
The recovery suite is not for every visitor. If you are pregnant or have a heart condition, ask your doctor first. The team confirms which tiers include the recovery suite.
Women can take the whole visit in the Ladies section, which has its own strength and cardio equipment as well as the Pilates studio where reformer classes run. Men train in the Mixed section.
What stays in the building
- Short cardio sessions on weekday mornings or evenings.
- Light dumbbell or machine work between long visits.
- Mobility and stretching on rest days.
- Anything you can finish in less time than the round trip to Al Manhal would take.
If you work with a coach, ask them to write the building-gym sessions as well, using only the equipment you tell them you have downstairs, so the week holds together. RPM's personal training is planned around your goal and schedule, which includes the days you train at home.
Choosing the day, and the drive along Salam Street
The mapped route from Al Raha Beach follows Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street (Salam Street), crossing onto the island, and finishes on Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Street into AD HUB, where there is free on-site parking and a lift to Level 4. The figures start from a single point in Al Raha Beach, so time your own trip at the hour you choose.
| Day | For | Against |
|---|---|---|
| Saturday morning | Unhurried, with time for the recovery suite afterwards | Competes with family plans |
| Sunday morning | Sets up the week | Can slide if Saturday ran late |
| A weekday evening | Fits if your office is on the island | A long visit after work makes for a late night |
| Friday | Possible for a shorter version | The club's shorter hours, and Friday prayers |
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Searches from Al Bandar, Al Muneera and Al Zeina
I live in Al Bandar. Is this page for me?
Yes. This page also answers searches from Al Bandar, and the same advice applies: keep a building gym, if you have one, for short sessions, and make RPM the long weekly visit. Then drive it yourself, from home, at your usual hour.
What about residents of Al Muneera?
The same plan applies, and this page answers searches from Al Muneera too. Judge the weekly trip by the sessions you cannot do where you live, and time it from home at your chosen hour.
Does the advice change for Al Zeina?
No. Searches from Al Zeina are answered here because the same advice holds: short sessions where you live, one long visit to RPM a week, and a timed test drive before you commit.
Questions, answered.
Is there an RPM on the Al Raha waterfront?
No. There is a single RPM club, in Al Manhal on the island, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex. From Al Raha Beach it is a longer bridge trip, with the mapped estimates in the route box.
Which tier suits one long visit a week?
It depends on what the visit is for. A lifting session you plan yourself needs the training floor, which is the Floor tier. Coached programming points to Engine, and a visit built around one-to-one coaching points to Atelier. Confirm inclusions and prices on enquiry.
How long should the weekly visit be?
Long enough to do the main lift properly and finish without rushing. Agree the length with your coach if you have one, and leave room for the drive home so the visit does not swallow the evening.
Should I try a long visit on a day pass first?
Ask whether a day pass is available for a trial visit. Pass details change, so availability, price and inclusions come from the team. Either way, the free guided tour is a sensible first step.
My building gym is quite good. Do I need RPM at all?
Perhaps not. If it has a rack, heavy enough weights and room to move, and you do not want coaching, a women-only section or the recovery suite, stay where you are. RPM is for the gaps.
