At the island's western tip, every trip has to earn its place
Al Ras Al Akhdar, whose name means the green headland, sits at the far western tip of Abu Dhabi island. From there, RPM on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal is a trip you plan rather than one you drift into. That is the honest starting point for deciding whether it suits you.
If you want to train most days, a set-up at home or a gym on your side of the island will usually serve you better. If you want something specific, such as coaching or a women-only section, a few well-planned visits can be worth more than daily trips you never make. For the general way to judge any trip, see the questions to ask of any gym trip.
Make each visit a full one
Fewer visits work when each one does a lot. These visit types combine what RPM offers, starting with personal training for anyone who wants a coach to plan the sessions.
| Visit type | What it includes | Plan ahead by |
|---|---|---|
| Coached strength | A session with a coach, then a short solo block on the training floor | Booking the coach first and building the trip around that slot |
| Strength plus recovery | Lifting on the floor, then the sauna, steam room or ice bath | Asking which tiers include the recovery suite |
| Conditioning | Sled pushes, ropes and bag work in the functional area, then an easy spin on the bike | Asking the team when the functional area is quieter |
| Ladies section day | Strength and cardio in the women-only section, then a reformer class in the Pilates studio | Checking the reformer class timetable before you set off |
| Class visit | A group class, with time on the floor before or after | Checking that week's classes, since the timetable changes |
Inside the recovery suite are a Finnish sauna, an aroma steam room and an ice bath. Heat and cold do not suit everyone, so if you are pregnant or have a heart condition, ask your doctor first.
A two-visit week, and what fills the other days
| Day | Plan |
|---|---|
| Tuesday | RPM after work: a coached or heavy session |
| Saturday | RPM in the morning: a longer visit with time for recovery |
| Friday | Rest, or something light at home, since club hours are shorter |
| The other days | Walks, bodyweight work or home equipment, kept short |
If your working day is in central Abu Dhabi, the weekday visit can ride on the commute home. If not, put both visits on days that already give you a reason to head inland, such as errands or a child's activity. Check the hours below before fixing either slot, and remember that they can change in Ramadan.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
The road in from the western tip
The mapped route follows King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street before the final stretch on Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Street into AD HUB. By the figures in the route box above it is a short cross-island trip, and the office rush can add to it.
On arrival, park free on site at AD HUB and ride the lift to Level 4. Book the free guided tour first. If you want to train on the same day, ask whether a day pass is available, since availability and price change and are confirmed by the team.
Questions, answered.
Is there an RPM club at Al Ras Al Akhdar?
No. RPM's single club is on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, a cross-island trip from the western tip. The route box shows the mapped estimates.
Are two visits a week enough to make progress?
That depends on your goal. Ask a coach to plan around two visits a week, with short sessions at home in between, and review the plan together after a month.
Should I just train at home instead?
If you mainly want general fitness and have the space, home training and walks in the cooler months may be enough. The trip is worth it for coaching, heavier equipment, the Ladies section or the recovery suite.
Can I combine a visit with errands in the centre?
Yes. Put the session first, so the errands do not eat into it, and keep the visit to the time you need on the floor.
What should I bring for a long visit?
Training clothes and shoes, a water bottle and a change of clothes. The changing area has keypad lockers, the grooming hub has hairdryers and products, and it is worth asking whether towels are provided.
