From Officers City, the island is a commute
Officers City is a residential area within Mohammed Bin Zayed City, on the mainland. RPM is one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal on the island, and the route box rates the drive between them a longer island or bridge trip. This page says nothing about the community itself. It is about fitting that trip into a working week.
Driven from home just to train, a trip of that length rarely survives a busy month. Driven as part of a day you were spending on the island anyway, it becomes a stop. For the general checks on any gym you would drive to, read RPM's one club, matched to the days you spend on the island.
Mark the island days in your coming week
Look at next week, not at a typical week, and mark every day that puts you on the island for any reason. Then match each kind of day to a session:
| Kind of island day | Session that fits | When |
|---|---|---|
| A full office day in the city | Your main session: a lift, then conditioning | After work, before the drive home |
| An early finish or a half day | A longer session, perhaps coached | Straight from work, while the afternoon is still open |
| Appointments or errands in the city | A short session placed between them | Wherever the gap is largest |
| A weekend visit to family on the island | A session before the visit | In the morning, so it does not cut the visit short |
| A home-working day | None at RPM | Train by home, walk, or rest |
Two marked days a week is a realistic floor. If a week has none, that is a week for a gym by home, not a failure of the plan. The commuter's guide to choosing a gym covers the same logic from the other side.
The bag that lives in the car
Island-day sessions fail most often for a simple reason: the kit is at home. Keep a bag in the car from Sunday to Friday:
- Training shoes and two sets of kit, so one damp set does not end the week.
- A water bottle and a snack for the gap between work and the session.
- No padlock needed: the changing area has keypad lockers, so you only need to remember a code.
- A wash bag, and the question to the team about showers and whether towels are provided.
- For morning sessions before the office, clothes for work, plus the hairdryers and products at the grooming hub vanity.
Sharing the drive into the city
- Two adults who both work on the island can share one car and one session time. Men train in the Mixed section, and women can join them there or use the women-only Ladies section, depending on their tier.
- If only one of you wants to train, the other can run errands in central Abu Dhabi during the session, so the stop serves both.
- With a colleague who lives in the same area, agree the session evenings at the start of the week, and keep a fallback for days when one of you is held at work.
When a gym in your own area is the better call
- Your work is on the mainland, so the island is never on your way.
- You want short, frequent sessions with no commute in them.
- School runs on the mainland side fall to you on most afternoons.
- You already have a gym by home that covers what you use.
Even then, RPM can earn an occasional weekend trip for something specific: a coached session, a reformer class for women in the Ladies section, or a long session ending in the recovery suite. Check which tiers include it, and get your doctor's view first if you are pregnant or have a heart condition.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street, and a first island-day visit
The mapped route from Officers City follows Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street onto the island and finishes on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street (Airport Road) into AD HUB, which has free on-site parking and a lift to Level 4. On an office day the leg that counts is from your desk to the club, so time that one at the hour you finish.
Book the free guided tour on one of your marked island days, straight from work. Fridays bring shorter club hours and midday prayers, and Ramadan changes both working and club timetables, so test an ordinary weekday first. RPM does not publish prices, and tier inclusions are confirmed on enquiry.
Questions, answered.
Is there an RPM club in Officers City or Mohammed Bin Zayed City?
No. RPM has one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal on the island. From Officers City it is a longer island or bridge trip, and the route box shows the mapped estimates.
Can I train before work instead of after?
Yes, if the drive in, a full session and getting ready all fit before you need to be at your desk. Check the hours block, and use the grooming hub to get ready for the office.
How many island days make a membership worthwhile?
It depends on how you would use it. If your week reliably holds two island days, ask the team which tier suits that pattern, since inclusions and prices are confirmed on enquiry.
Is there a short pass to test the plan?
Ask the team whether a weekly pass is on offer. Passes change over time, so the team confirms whether one exists, what it costs and what it includes.
My working days change every week. Can this still work?
Yes, because the plan starts from next week's calendar rather than a fixed routine. Mark the island days each weekend, and book any coached sessions only once the week is known.
