The honest fit for staff in Mohammed Bin Zayed City
Burjeel Medical City's website gives its address in Mohammed Bin Zayed City and calls it the flagship hospital of Burjeel Holdings in Abu Dhabi. RPM is one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal on the island, and it has no link with the hospital. The route box calls the drive between them a mainland commute.
For routine training, that usually points to a gym by home or by the hospital. The exception this page deals with is narrower: a woman who wants coaching on a floor without men, and has not found it where she lives. For the general checks on any trip, see where the club is, for women who work in healthcare.
- It tends to suit: women who want a female coach, reformer Pilates or strength work away from men, and who can protect one slot a week.
- It may suit: anyone, man or woman, whose days off already take them onto the island.
- It rarely suits: someone who wants to train most days and has no reason to cross onto the island otherwise.
What the Ladies section offers a woman on a hospital rota
Only women use the Ladies section. It has its own strength and cardio equipment, and the Pilates studio inside it hosts the reformer classes. In the studio photos you can see reformers (some with towers), trapeze-table frames and a ladder barrel, so ask which of them a given session uses. Female coaches on the roster who work in the section include:
- Coach Maria, strength and conditioning.
- Giana Suleiman Daqnoush, Pilates and aerobic classes in the studio.
- Imen Hasnaoui, combat fitness and self-defence.
On the free guided tour, ask how the section is laid out and how you reach it, so you can judge the privacy for yourself instead of relying on a description.
A first month built around one coached slot
One session a week with a coach, plus short sessions fitted into your own routine, is a realistic start for someone on a hospital rota. The plan below uses a single fixed slot and builds from there.
| Week | The coached session | Between sessions | What to notice |
|---|---|---|---|
| First | Goals, any injuries, and your next rota on the table | Walks, or nothing new yet | Whether the drive at that hour is bearable |
| Second | Learning the main lifts or the reformer basics | One short session from the coach's notes, at home or a local gym | Whether the slot survived the rota |
| Third | Adding load, or progressing the reformer work | Two short sessions from the notes | Sleep and soreness after a long shift |
| Fourth | A review, and a plan for the next block | The same as the third week | Whether to continue, and on which tier |
Of the three tiers, Floor is the training floor alone, Engine brings coached programming, and Atelier centres on one-to-one coaching. Which sections each tier covers, and what it costs, is confirmed on enquiry.
If you would rather book coaching session by session, personal training with a female coach is the page to read before you ask.
When a new rota lands: protecting the weekly session
- Put the slot on the day off that moves least from one rota to the next.
- When the rota is published, look for the coached session first and move it before anything else is booked around it.
- Agree a back-up slot with the coach, so a clash means a move rather than a missed week.
- After nights, take the session only once you have slept, even if that means the later back-up slot.
- If two weeks slip, restart with a lighter session rather than picking up where you stopped.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street, then heat or cold if you want it
The mapped route from the hospital follows Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street onto the island, then Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street (Airport Road) into Al Manhal. AD HUB has free on-site parking, and the lift goes up to Level 4.
Some women end a coached session in the recovery suite, which has a Finnish sauna, an aroma steam room and an ice bath. It is not suitable for everyone: if you are pregnant or have a heart condition, speak to your doctor before using it. Ask which tiers include it, and how and when it is used.

Questions, answered.
Is RPM part of Burjeel Medical City, or in Mohammed Bin Zayed City?
Neither. RPM has one club, in Al Manhal on the island, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex. From the hospital it is a mainland commute, and the route box gives the mapped estimates.
Can I see the same female coach every week?
Ask for it when you enquire. Female coaches work in the Ladies section, and whether one coach can keep your slot depends on her timetable and on how often your rota moves.
Is the recovery suite set aside for women at any time?
That is not confirmed on this page, so ask the team how the suite is arranged before planning a visit around it.
Can my male colleagues train at RPM as well?
Yes. Men train in the Mixed section, which women can use too, so a mixed group can train there together. For a department, your employer can ask about corporate arrangements, which are tailored to each organisation.
What should I do between the weekly sessions?
Short sessions from the coach's notes, at home or in a local gym, plus walks on days off. Sleep after a run of shifts counts as part of the plan too, not time lost from it.
