A downtown mall, and the people who search from it
Hamdan Centre, also written Hamdan Center, is a shopping mall on Hamdan Bin Mohammed Street in downtown Abu Dhabi, and the route box above measures from the mall itself. This page is for the people who come and go through its doors: shoppers on a downtown errand, and the staff who work in its shops.
Neither group will find RPM in the building. The club has one address, Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, and by the mapped estimates it sits a short drive from the mall. For the wider checks, read how RPM's single club sits beside a Hamdan Centre errand.
Shoppers: one outing, two stops, in this order
Because the trip between the two is short, the session and the shopping fit into one outing. The order still matters, mostly because of the car.
- Pack a kit bag and a clean top the night before, so the outing starts at the club rather than at home.
- Drive to AD HUB first, leave the car in the free on-site parking and take the lift up to Level 4.
- Train while you are fresh. A shopping trip already involves plenty of walking, so leave long cardio for another day.
- Change, then use the vanity area at the grooming hub, with its hairdryers and products, before heading to the mall. Check with the team whether there are showers and whether towels are provided.
- Shop last, so whatever you buy goes straight home instead of waiting in a hot car while you train.
Reverse the order only when the errand is quick and leaves nothing in the boot, such as collecting a repair or dropping off a document.
Working at Hamdan Centre: three windows in a retail day
Shop rotas downtown vary from unit to unit, so read these as windows to test against your own hours rather than a timetable.
| Window | When it works | Session that fits | Watch for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your day off | Every week, if the rota gives you a fixed one | The longest session of the week, coached if you can | Letting chores swallow the morning |
| Before a late start | When your shift begins in the afternoon or evening | A moderate strength session, finished in good time | Arriving at work drained before a long shift |
| A long afternoon break | Only if your shop closes for a long stretch after lunch | A short, planned session: one main lift and a finisher | Changing twice and cutting the session to nothing |
| After closing | Rarely, because the club's evening may be over | None, or a light visit on an early-finish day | Training late and sleeping badly before an early shift |
Compare your shop's times with the club's hours further down before you choose a tier.
The afternoon break is the window a short trip opens up, and only when the break is genuinely long. Work out the whole loop first: the drive both ways, changing, training and getting back behind the counter on time.
Women who shop or work at the mall
Some women would rather not train in a mixed room. RPM's Ladies section is reserved for women, with its own strength and cardio equipment and the Pilates studio, where reformer classes run. Coach Maria, on the roster as a strength and conditioning coach, and Giana Suleiman Daqnoush, on the roster as a Pilates and aerobic instructor, both work there.
Two colleagues from one shop can train at the same hour in different sections, or together in the Mixed section. Check that each tier covers the section each of you wants.
Along Muroor Road to Level 4, and a first visit
The mapped route from the mall runs along Sultan Bin Zayed The First Street, still widely called Muroor Road, before the last stretch on Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Street into AD HUB. A busy shopping evening downtown can stretch the figures in the route box.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Set your rota or your shopping day beside the hours above. Fridays are shorter, and Ramadan can move both the club's hours and your shop's.
- Book the free guided tour for the day you would really come. A team member walks you round, and nobody expects you to train.
- If you only want the odd session on shopping days, ask whether a day pass is available and what it includes. Whether one is running, and its price, is for the team to confirm.
- If several of you from one shop want to train, your manager can ask about corporate arrangements, which are set up organisation by organisation and confirmed on enquiry.
Questions, answered.
Does Hamdan Centre have an RPM gym inside it?
No. RPM runs one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, and has no link with the mall. It is close to Hamdan Centre by road, and the route box shows the mapped trip.
Can I leave my shopping in a locker while I train?
Plan the shopping for after the session instead. The keypad lockers in the changing area are meant for your kit, phone and keys, so ask the team what fits before you bring bags. From May to September, shopping left in a parked car heats up quickly.
My shop closes for a few hours in the afternoon. Is that enough time?
Possibly. Add up the drive both ways, changing twice and the session itself, then compare the total with the break. If it is tight, keep the break for lunch and rest, and train on your day off.
Can I train with a colleague who has a different day off?
Only on the days your rotas overlap, so look at both before you join. If they rarely match, train separately and meet for one session a week, such as a morning when you both start late.
I am new to gyms. Where do I start?
With a coached session or two rather than guessing. Personal training at RPM is planned around your goal and the hours your rota leaves.
