An executive airport on the island, and a club across it
Al Bateen Executive Airport's website describes it as a dedicated executive aviation hub on Abu Dhabi Island, within the Abu Dhabi Airports group, and lists services that range from executive travel to ground handling and aircraft maintenance. This page is for people whose work there runs on a roster rather than office hours, whether on the ramp, in a hangar, on a crew or behind a desk. It makes no claims about the airport's operations or anyone's working pattern.
RPM is one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, with no arrangement with the airport or its operator. The route box rates the trip from the airport a short cross-island trip, and on a roster that trip only pays off on days with energy left and an open slot in the club's hours. Start with RPM's one club, read against an aviation roster.
Earlies, lates and the switch between them
Many aviation rosters swing between early reports and late finishes. Place each session by the duty that day, not by the day of the week:
| Duty that day | Where a session fits | What kind of session |
|---|---|---|
| An early report | After the duty, once you have eaten, and napped if you need to | Short and moderate: one main lift, then steady cardio |
| A late finish | Before the duty, in the late morning or early afternoon | Your main strength session, finished well before you report |
| Switching from lates to earlies | Usually nowhere. Protect the earlier bedtime | Rest, or an easy walk |
| Switching from earlies to lates | The morning of the first late duty | A good day for a longer session or a coached one |
| The first day off after a block | Whenever you wake properly rested | Easy movement and mobility work |
| Later days off | Any time the club's hours allow | The heaviest session of the week, with the recovery suite afterwards if it suits you |
These are general training patterns, not any employer's roster rules. Heat and cold in the recovery suite do not suit everyone, so if you are pregnant or have a heart condition, ask your doctor first, and check whether your tier includes the suite.
When report times and club hours do not overlap
Be honest about the clock. A very early report can come before the club opens, and a late finish can land after it closes. On those days nothing is missed: a session was never on offer, so the day counts as rest.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Read the table against a typical month of your roster, mark the duties where a session is possible at all, and build the week from those marks. If only days off qualify, two solid day-off sessions a week still keep you moving forward. Fridays have shorter club hours, so a Friday off suits an earlier start.
Booking coaching on the day the roster lands
A roster published ahead is an advantage. The day it arrives, place the month's coached sessions before anything else fills the gaps:
- Mark the later days off and the mornings before late duties. Those slots are the likeliest to hold.
- Book personal training into them, and tell the coach which duties tend to change at short notice.
- Engine adds coached programming, while Atelier is built around one-to-one coaching. Ask the team which suits an irregular month, and what each costs.
- For nights away from base, ask the coach for a bodyweight session that needs nothing more than a hotel room floor.
Across the island from Al Bateen
The mapped route ends on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street (Airport Road) into AD HUB, which has free on-site parking and a lift to Level 4. The route box gives the figures, and real journeys at busy hours take longer than its minimum.
- Keep training kit in the car, so a session after duty never depends on going home first.
- Change out of uniform at the club. Keypad lockers in the changing area hold your bag and valuables, and the team can tell you whether towels are provided.
- Carry water and a snack. After an early duty, eat before you train rather than after.
- Women on the team who prefer a women-only floor can use the Ladies section, with its own strength and cardio equipment and the Pilates studio, if their tier covers it.

Questions, answered.
Is RPM at Al Bateen Executive Airport, or in Al Bateen?
Neither. RPM's only club is on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, a short cross-island trip from the airport. Its mapped estimates are in the route box.
My roster changes at short notice. Is a membership sensible?
It can be, if days off still give you two sessions in most weeks. Ask the team how memberships handle irregular months, and whether a weekly pass suits a lighter spell. Passes are time-sensitive, so confirm whether one is available and what it includes, along with the price.
Should I train after a duty that started before dawn?
Only if you slept beforehand and still feel alert. Keep it short and moderate, and if the drive home afterwards would be a struggle, go home instead.
Can colleagues on the same roster train together?
Yes. Men and women can train side by side in the Mixed section. For a group arrangement, the employer can ask about corporate arrangements, which RPM sets up for each organisation. RPM has no arrangement with the airport.
I fly as crew. What about the day after crossing time zones?
Time-zone changes can unsettle sleep, so handle that day like the first day off after a block: easy movement, then normal training once sleep settles. If poor sleep goes on for weeks, speak to a doctor.
