Sleeping at the venue for a show
Aloft Abu Dhabi is a hotel at the ADNEC exhibition centre. This page is for guests staying there because of a show: exhibitors, buyers and speakers whose days are spent in the halls and whose evenings often belong to dinners and receptions.
RPM is not at ADNEC and has no link with the hotel. It is one club, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, so a session means leaving the venue. Read RPM's location, for a guest whose week revolves around the exhibition halls, then plan around the time the hotel gives back.
Using the time a venue hotel gives back
Guests staying elsewhere lose part of each show day getting to the halls. You do not, and that is the slot a session can take.
| Your show day | When to go to RPM | What to train |
|---|---|---|
| On the stand from opening to close | After the halls close, before dinner | Upper body and a little cardio, with the legs kept light |
| Meetings in the halls, with gaps | Morning, before the first meeting | A full strength session |
| A reception or dinner in the evening | Morning | Moderate work, so you are fresh for the evening |
| A day with nothing booked at the show | Whenever suits | The longest session of the week, or one with a coach |
For how a fixed conference programme shapes the day, see training around conference days.
Legs that have stood all day
Hours on hall floors tire the legs and feet more than most people expect. In the middle of a show, change the session rather than skip it.
- Swap heavy squats for seated or supported work: the pulldown, the cable towers and the plate-loaded machines.
- Keep any leg work light, and leave the sled until the show is over.
- Train in cushioned trainers that are not the pair you stand in all day.
- Put sleep first. A session that costs an hour of sleep before a long day on the stand is a poor trade.
Once the show is over, the recovery suite, with its Finnish sauna, aroma steam room and ice bath, may appeal if your pass includes it. Heat and cold suit some people and not others, and anyone pregnant or with a heart condition should speak to a doctor before trying them.
The night after the show closes
If you stay on for a night after breakdown, that is the strongest training day of the trip: no stand, no badge and no dinner to stay fresh for.
- Book a coached session for that day, or plan your heaviest workout of the week.
- If you fly out the same day, ask the team in advance about luggage. Keypad lockers in the changing area hold a kit bag, so ask about anything bigger.
- Heading straight to the airport? Get ready at the grooming hub, where the vanity area has hairdryers and products.
From the exhibition centre to Level 4, and access for your dates
The mapped route takes Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street and ends on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street (Airport Road) in Al Manhal, and the route box rates it a short cross-island trip. Leave before the halls open, or once the closing rush has thinned. AD HUB's free on-site parking and its lift up to Level 4 handle the arrival.
Before you travel, ask the team whether a day pass or a weekly pass is available for your dates, and what each one covers. Both are time-sensitive, so have the price and inclusions confirmed rather than assumed. A show badge brings no access to RPM.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
The club opens early and closes late, and Friday hours are shorter.
Questions, answered.
Is RPM part of Aloft or ADNEC?
No. RPM has one club, up on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, and no link with the hotel or the exhibition centre. The route box above holds the mapped estimates.
Should I train at all on a long stand day?
Only if it leaves your sleep alone. A light upper-body session after the halls close is often enough, and on the heaviest days a walk and an early night may serve you better.
Can several of us from the hotel go together?
Yes, and sharing a taxi makes sense. Each person's access is confirmed separately. Men and women can train together in the Mixed section, and women can choose the Ladies section, which is for women only.
What should I pack for a session during the show?
Training clothes, a second pair of trainers and water. Leave the badge and lanyard in your room, and ask the team whether towels are provided.
Do I need a membership for a show week?
No. Ask about short-term access instead. If you come to Abu Dhabi for shows several times a year, ask the team what would suit repeat visits.
