Hamdan Street evenings, with the gym a short drive away
Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi is a hotel on Hamdan Street, in the city centre. This page is for guests whose days are full, with work or with sightseeing, and who would rather train in the evening than at dawn.
RPM is close to the hotel by road but not part of it. Its one club is on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, with no link to the Crowne Plaza or to any other hotel. Before planning the week, read what a Hamdan Street guest should know about RPM's club.
What a short drive changes about a hotel stay
When the gym is a long way from the hotel, every visit has to justify the trip, so guests save it for a couple of big sessions. From Hamdan Street that sum changes, and the stay can look much more like an ordinary week at home.
| Habit when the gym is a long trip away | What a Hamdan Street guest can do instead |
|---|---|
| Save the gym for two long sessions | Train on most evenings, for a shorter time |
| Skip the gym when dinner is booked | Go first, and still sit down to dinner on time |
| Pack as if for a half-day outing | Leave the room in training kit and come back to change |
| Book a coach only if the trip is worth it | Fit a coached session into an ordinary weeknight |
| Ignore classes because the timing is too tight | Ask which evening classes a visitor can join |
City-centre traffic can still build at the end of the working day, so leave some slack before a dinner booking.
Evenings, from the last meeting to a late dinner
Most guests face one of four kinds of evening. Fit the session to the evening, not the other way round.
| Your evening | When to go | What to train |
|---|---|---|
| Work is over and nothing is booked | Straight from the hotel, after a snack | A full session: strength first, then cardio |
| Dinner is booked for later | Before dinner, with time to change | Strength work you know well, kept tidy |
| A reception or a work event | Skip it, or make a brief visit beforehand | Mobility and a light circuit |
| The night before an early flight | Early in the evening, if at all | Something easy, so packing and sleep come first |
Gyms in general tend to be busiest just after office hours. If you would rather train on a calmer floor, ask the team which part of the evening is usually quieter.
A late session can make it harder for some people to fall asleep. Finish with easy mobility rather than hard intervals, and eat afterwards instead of going to bed hungry.
Electra Street to Level 4
The mapped route follows Zayed The First Street (Electra Street), then Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street (Airport Road) into AD HUB, and the route box gives the figures. In the evening, a taxi from the hotel is the simplest option. If you have a car, AD HUB has free on-site parking, with a lift up to Level 4.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
Late-evening opening is what makes this plan work. Check Friday above, since hours are shorter that day, and ask about Ramadan timings if your stay falls in that month.
Sorting access for a run of evenings
- Ask the team whether a weekly pass is available for your dates. With evening visits on most days it may suit you better than single days, but price, inclusions and availability are confirmed by the team and can change.
- Ask which classes run in the evenings during your stay, since the timetable changes.
- For bag work after a long day, fitness boxing runs in the Mixed section's functional area. Ask about sparring rather than assuming it.
- Women can ask whether a visitor's access covers the Ladies section, with its own equipment and the Pilates studio.
To weigh RPM against any other gym from where you are staying, the hotel-door test for any gym explains how to measure the trip at the hour you would train.
Questions, answered.
Is RPM part of the Crowne Plaza?
No. RPM is an independent club on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal. It is close to the hotel by road, but it has no tie to it, and the route box holds the mapped estimates.
Can I walk there from the hotel?
RPM does not plan walking routes, so plan the trip as a drive. The route box measures the road route, and a taxi also saves you arriving hot before a session in the warmer months.
How late can I start a session?
Late enough for most evenings, and the hours block shows closing time for each day. Start early enough to finish without rushing, and keep a late session moderate if you want to sleep well.
Do the evening plans change in Ramadan?
The club sets its own Ramadan hours, so check them with the team first. If you are fasting, a session after iftar, once you have eaten and had water, is the slot many people choose.
Do I need to book each evening?
Message the team before your first visit to confirm access for your dates. Classes and coached sessions are booked one by one, because the timetable and the coaches' slots change.
