A tertiary hospital on Al Najda Street, a club in Al Manhal
Burjeel's website calls Burjeel Hospital, Abu Dhabi a tertiary care hospital, and its contact page gives an address on Al Najdah Street. RPM is a separate business, one club on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal, with no arrangement with the hospital or with Burjeel.
This page is for staff whose weeks swing between ordinary rota weeks and weeks on call, with long days in both. Most gym advice assumes every week looks the same. Yours do not, so plan for two kinds. Start with what to check about RPM before an on-call week.
Two versions of the same week
Write both versions once, and after that each new rota only tells you which one to use. A coach through personal training can hold both and switch between them when your rota lands.
| Part of the week | Week off call | Week on call |
|---|---|---|
| Main strength session | The heaviest work of the week, coached if you book it | Moved to the day after the on-call stretch ends |
| Second session | A full session on the training floor | A short session you can stop at any point |
| Conditioning | Sled pushes and battle ropes on the turf lane | Steady cardio on a bike, easy to step off if the phone rings |
| After a long day | Rest and an early night | Rest and an early night |
| Coached slot | Fixed in the diary | A slot your coach can move at short notice |
If you are on call from home, check your hospital's own rules on travel and response times before planning any session. Those rules come first, and this page cannot tell you what they are.
In an on-call week, one or two sessions is plenty. The week off call is the one that carries your progress.
Sessions you can walk out of
When the phone may ring, choose work that loses little if it stops halfway, and keep the phone where you will hear it. Your badge and keys can go in a keypad locker in the changing area.
- Circuits done in rounds, such as kettlebell swings, a dumbbell row and a loaded carry, repeated. Stop after any round and the session still counts.
- Cardio on a bike or the cross-trainer, which you can end in a moment.
- Machine work, with no barbell to unload before you leave.
- Mobility work, which needs nothing but floor space.
Save two things for off-call weeks: a heavy barbell session that needs a long warm-up before the main sets, and a class you cannot leave without disrupting it.
If you are called in from the gym
On call, the trip that matters is the one back to the hospital. The mapped route between the hospital and AD HUB runs along Sultan Bin Zayed The First Street (Muroor Road) and Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Street, and the route box gives the mapped estimates. Real journeys take longer, so judge the trip at the hour you would train, not by the minimum.
- Use AD HUB's free on-site parking, so the car is a lift ride from Level 4.
- Train in clothes you could drive in, with work clothes ready in the car.
- Tell the coach at the start that you are on call, so a sudden exit is no surprise.
| Days | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 06:00–23:00 |
| Friday | 09:00–22:00 |
Hours can change, for example during Ramadan. Confirm with the team before a late or early visit.
What to ask before signing up with an on-call rota
Read about the membership tiers first, then put these to the team:
| Ask the team | Why it matters on an on-call rota |
|---|---|
| How much notice does a coach need to move a session? | On-call weeks change at short notice |
| Which tier suits someone who mostly trains alone? | Floor covers the training floor, and Engine adds coached programming |
| Can a membership be paused? | Long runs of on-call duty or annual leave can leave weeks unused |
| Is a day pass available at the moment? | To test an on-call week before you commit |
A pass is offered only at some times, so ask the team whether one is running, what it costs and what it covers. Membership prices are shared on enquiry.

Questions, answered.
Is RPM linked with Burjeel Hospital?
No. RPM is an independent club with one site, on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal rather than on Al Najda Street, and it has no arrangement with the hospital.
Should I train while on call at all?
Only if your hospital's rules allow you to be where the gym is, and only with sessions you can leave at once. If in doubt, keep on-call days for rest and a walk at home.
What if I am called in mid-session?
Leave. Collect your things from the locker, change if there is time, and go. Next time, pick up the plan where you stopped instead of doubling up on what you missed.
Can I use the sauna or ice bath on an on-call day?
Keep heat and cold for days with nothing after them, so you never drive to work straight from the suite. If you are pregnant or have a heart condition, ask your doctor first, and ask the team which tiers include the recovery suite.
Can women on the team train separately?
Yes. The women-only Ladies section has its own strength and cardio equipment and the Pilates studio, if your tier covers it.
