Decide what private means for this trip
| What you want kept private | What to confirm | Why it matters on a visit |
|---|---|---|
| The training floor | A women-only section rather than set ladies' sessions in a shared hall | Set sessions may not line up with the few days you have |
| The route in | How you reach the section from the car park or lift | You will make that walk without a regular member to show you |
| Changing and lockers | That the changing room you use sits inside the women-only area | Changing elsewhere undoes the privacy of the floor |
| Coaching | Whether a female coach can take a visitor for a session | One session can give you a plan for the whole stay |
| Classes | Whether women-only classes, such as Pilates, are open to visitors | Some studios offer places to regular members first |
RPM's Ladies section is a separate women-only section with its own strength and cardio equipment and the Pilates studio, and female coaches on the roster work there. See RPM's Ladies section for what it contains and how to arrange a visit.
Which short-term options reach a women-only section
| Option | Reaches a women-only section? | Ask before paying |
|---|---|---|
| Day pass | Depends on the gym. Some passes open the mixed floor only | Which section this pass covers, and whether the price differs |
| Weekly pass | The same question, for every day of the week | Whether the women-only section is open to pass holders on all seven days |
| A single Pilates class or class pack | Yes, if the studio sits inside the women-only area | Whether visitors can book, and how far ahead |
| One session with a female coach | Usually, if the coach works in that section | Whether a non-member can book, and whether floor access is included that day |
| Multi-gym app visit | Not always. Check each venue's listing | Whether an app visit includes the women-only area at that venue |
At RPM, ask the team whether a day or weekly pass is available on your dates, what it costs, what it includes and which section it covers. The wider menu of short options, and when each fits a stay, is in comparing short-term gym access.
A message to send before you book
Send one message and keep the reply. It spares you an awkward conversation at the desk.
- I am visiting from [date] to [date] and would like to train in the women-only section. Does a day or weekly pass cover it?
- Could someone show me the way from the car park or lift to the section on my first visit?
- Where is the changing room for the section, and are the lockers inside it?
- Who works inside the section? Do male staff ever enter, and if so, when?
- What are the rules on phones and photos?
- Is there a dress code?
- Can I book one session with a female coach while I am here?
- Can a visitor join a Pilates class, and which apparatus does it use?
At RPM, ask the team to walk you through the route into the Ladies section before you train, rather than relying on a written description.
Female coaches for a short stay
On a short visit, one session with a coach can do more than five on your own. Ask for a session built around the equipment in the women-only section, so you leave with a plan you can repeat for the rest of your stay.
- Coach Maria, strength and conditioning coach in the Ladies section.
- Giana Daqnoush, Pilates and aerobic coach in the Pilates studio.
- Imen Hasnaoui, combat and self-defence coach in the Ladies section.
These coaches are on RPM's roster. Availability on your dates is confirmed when you enquire, and you can ask each coach about her experience directly. Booking is covered on the female personal trainer page.
Pilates while you are here
RPM's Pilates studio is inside the Ladies section, so a class there keeps you in the women-only space. Reformer classes run in the studio. The studio photos show reformers, some with towers, alongside trapeze-table frames and a ladder barrel, so ask which apparatus a session uses.
- Book ahead. Your dates are fixed, and popular slots fill.
- Say if you are new to the reformer, so the instructor can set it up for you.
- Ask whether a class is included in a short pass or paid for separately.
- If you are pregnant, recently postnatal or managing an injury, tell the instructor before class and check with your doctor first.
Getting there and getting in
RPM Gym is on Level 4 of AD HUB Sports Complex in Al Manhal. There is free on-site parking at AD HUB, then the lift to Level 4.
- Save the location before you set off and check that the pin matches the building. Verifying a gym's location shows how.
- By taxi or ride-hailing app, give the driver the building name, AD HUB Sports Complex, as well as the district.
- If you would rather have a female driver, ask the taxi service what it currently offers.
- Book the ride back before your last set, so you are not waiting outside in the heat.
- On your first visit, message the team before you arrive and ask them to explain or show you the route to the Ladies section.
Questions, answered.
Can I bring my daughter?
Age rules apply, so ask first. At RPM, youth fitness is coach-supervised, arranged and approved by a parent or guardian. Ask which ages each session accepts and whether a visitor can arrange one.
Can my husband train at the same time?
Yes, at a club with both kinds of section. At RPM, men train in the Mixed section and the Ladies section is for women only. Check which section each of your passes covers.
Can I see the section before I pay for a pass?
Ask for a tour first. At RPM, the free guided tour is a walk-through with a member of the team, not a workout, and you can ask to see the Ladies section and the route into it.
What should I pack?
Ask the gym about its dress code before you pack. Bring training shoes and a water bottle, and ask whether towels are provided.
Should I book a female coach in advance?
Yes, if you can. Coaches' diaries fill, and a visitor has fewer days to fit a session in. Send your dates with your first message.
